BIO: Beauty and brutality are generally two things that cannot co-exist. When it comes to Phoenix based Loren Battle, the band has managed to construct a musical domain for both to exist that creates a devastating and highly intoxicating sound.
Established in 2004, Loren Battle formed with the intention of creating music each of the each of the members desperately wanted to hear in a scene saturated with cheesy carbon copies of whatever was currently popular. Together the group created a sound that stretches across the musical boundaries of metal, hardcore and modern rock to celebrate each musical styles unique characteristic. Loren Battle unique mixture of metal has often been compared to early Atreyu, I Killed The Prom Queen and August Burns Red
After countless live performances, Loren Battle began to hone their sound for the recording of their debut "Words Begin Wars". Recorded under the watchful eye of producer Matt Keller (Knights of the Abyss) & Joel Love at Juice Labs Recording Studios, the band captured their all aspects of their unique sound. Utilizing a deadly combination of blistering guitar riffs, stunning breakdowns and empowering lyrical content, "Words Begin Wars" elevated Loren Battle into one of the premier unsigned acts on the scene and promoted the Ahwatukee Foothills News to hail them as, "A blistering melodic death metal that can alternately blast the paint off a wall and surprise you with just how talented each musician is."
"The title 'Word Begin Wars' was influenced by the albums lyrics and how a person's words and actions can have huge impact on someone's life. We hope that someone listenting to our music could be inspired enough stand their ground, stay positive and keep your head up in turbulent times in your life. When things don't seem to go your way, frustration can feel overwhelming and we want our music to be a source of solice."
The album is only a warm up to the band's jaw dropping live performance. The band's brand of brutality has earned them a cult following after stealing the show countless times opening for the likes of Suicide Silence, God Forbid, Between The Buried and Me, The Human Abstract, Despised Icon, Winds of Plague, Emmure, Haste The Day, Carnifex and Job For A Cowboy.
In addition to creating a following on the live scene, Loren Battle has developed a fan base across the US and beyond by utilizing the digital era to spread their music to the masses. Popular sites like MySpace and Pure Volume have taken the group's word of mouth approach and given them a megaphone to recruit a massive online army of followers that includes over 35,000 fans on MySpace who have streamed the band's songs over 300,000 times through the site.
"Today's Music Business is very much a DIY work effort and that gives an artist more control on their work. MySpace is great tool to use to expand your music to people who can have the opportunity to hear it since it's a way people also try to find new music every day."
Loren Battle signed with Powerline Management in late 2008, a Arizona based management firm that has previously helped negotiate recording contracts for Eyes Set To Kill (Breaksilence), The Summer Set (Militia Group) and Karate High School (Eyeball Records). The band is currently wrapping up production with producer Curtis Douglas (The Maine, Brighten) on a their new release "Learning to Live With Open Wounds" that is being shopped to interested labels as a calm before the impending storm that is surely to be unleashed by this Phoenix based group. And after signing with Seth Hyman (Hit The Road Booking), expect to see Loren Battle and their music burning up our nation in cities near you!
