Alright, as some of you may know, we've been featured in the STC East Newspaper, as well as the Geneva and Batavia Homeroom Shows. As of right now, I can't figure out how to change the footage that I have from those shows into .mpeg so if anyone could help out with that, I would be very appreciative...
Also, I guess our LP, "Can you dig our planet?" is being advertised on the Batavia Public Access channel, so if you get that channel, check it out and tell us what you think, because none of us have seen the commercial yet.
Last, here's an article that was written about us in the STC East "X-Ray" newspaper...
Can you dig our planet? Yeah...I could dig that. Locriation's planet that is. This fresh sound is unlike that normal sound heard here in Saint Charles. For most musicians the path of heavy and loud take over but for some, like Locriation, a simpler, edgier type of music heaves itself into the loop of this modern-day phenomenon that we like to call FUNK.
"Locriation is a combination of two words. First, Locrian is a musical mode that sounds a bit different and weird compared to all the other modes, and creation. When you put them together, it's a different sound in music," wrote Alex Jenkins. "A bit different" sounds just right to me. I mean, have you recently heard any another local band with three different types of saxophones? No? I didn't think so. On top of that, Locriation isn't only local to St. Charles. Members from both STC and Geneva get together to play. You might recognize a few of 'em...From STC is Conor Mackey, Andrew Butler and Peter Somerville along with GHS's Alex Jenkins, Nick Orbell, Chris Werve, Greg Duff and Miles Pauli. Together they mix up this sound that drummer Andrew Butler describes as "dog-biscuit-eating, olive-oil and honey drinking, Lucky Charms goodness."...whatever that is. But Lucky Charms goodness they are...in a sense that their musical style "can't be covered in a musical blanket of sorts," but it may have a familiar "Phish-esque" ring to it that's recognizable.
Check 'em out this Saturday (May 20th) at Pottawatomie's Battle of the Bands (7pm - $7 for 9 bands) in the Community Center and see Locraition for yourself...but if you can't make it to the show be sure to talk to a member of the band for your copy of Can You Dig Our Planet? - the groups second self-produced CD.

Pretty cool stuff. Also, we're still looking for a small label to pick us up. And that means, except for regional BOTB (which we still have no information about), we don't have any shows coming up...sorry. In the meantime you can listen to our stuff on myspace as well as our full-length LP that is now up on Purevolume. Hope everyone is having a great summer.
