confessions of an indie bitch
It has been a really long time, hasn't it? Strangly I dont give a fuck. I have been reflcting upon my life lately, looking back I guess...well, Im no longer obsesed with emo, this happened a really long time ago actually, you've just been in the dark. Most of the bands I like aren't even on purevolume anyway...but since emo used to mean something to me, and Im lazy, Im going to leave my faves list as is.
Lately I've been locking myself up in my room, listening to my turntable, doodleing and writing stories. I tried to go shopping once, at Hot Topic, I've never made it out of there without spending at least $20 before, but last time I realized "wow, I dont have the drug-like itch to buy that MCR shirt" or "man, that Green Day belt looks really retarded now", I spend all my money on vinyl currently, as a hobby. So I've really become less shy about everything now, my deism, my feminist pionts of view, my hatred towards others(yes, I just cant seem to becom un-aliented). Anyway, what really makes me sad is the way emo has just blown up, I remember when it was just an internet subculture, not a francise. So I strayed away from the present and now have a passion for 1990's music, riot grrrl, grundge, indie rock, whatever.
Do yourself a favor, dont sit around watching subterrainian all day and playing online, just do something constructive, I know I sound like your mother but seriously, make a zine, start a band, learn to paint. I dont want my entire childhood revolving around my myspace.
