I need to find show...

I need to find a show to go to... but none of the local bands around here are having shows. I know of some other bands around my area, but i'm not that well connected to them. I mean i actually communicate with local band members, which makes finding out dates VERY SIMPLE. ugh! i just want to find some new music to listen to.
