they say that when you meet your true love
all clocks freeze and time stands still
for one quick everlasting moment
they say you fall into each other's eyes
and your heart takes flight.
i never understood that cliche
always thought it was just the fairytales
but then there was that moment, so long ago
that sent an electric current running through my veins
when i looked up at you
i fell forward into your eyes
lost myself in you, lost my breath
a feeling i thought i'd never understand.
i'm a bombshell, blonde peroxide incinerated
crashed and burned too many times
shot down by enemy words, denial made it harder to take
i just wanted to let you know
you are ever in my mind
you are ever just slightly out of reach
i know you think like me, as i think like you, as i think of you
and if you want to take the fall
you can be my intoxication, you can have it all
i swear, i feel my sternum's about to burst with hope
take my breath away and keep it, i won't choke.
i'm dying to tell you this
but the words can't escape my lips.


i wrote this three years ago, when it was easy to feel for someone.
my heart's a fortress now... but there are some people who can break my defenses with a single kiss.

it was originally written to tell someone subliminally how i felt
i used little things he had said to me or things that had happened as hints
the "looking up at you" part was originally "looking up at you on that desk," referring to a really cool conversation we had had.
the bombshell part was originally about my hair (it was pink and blonde)
because he always told me "your hair's BOMB!!!'
so it was
"i know my hair's bomb, that's because i'm a bombshell" (referring to that phrase "blonde bombshell."
but after all that, i changed it because without all the little specific hints it just sounded better.
=] oh, little crushes...
