RETREAT!!!!

yo. i just went on the most awesome retreat i have been to in my whole entire life. not an exaggeration. the senior high kids at my school, all 60 of us or so, went to Hayden Lake for 3 days to chill and get into God. the entire message was about dying to self. especially in worship. idk about y'all out there, but i get SO self-conscious in my worship. when i'm supposed to be on my knees before God heart-wise, all i can think about is "if i raise my hands, will others see me as self-righteous? if i belt the song out, will i get pegged as a freak? are ppl staring at me right now?" THAT IS SO SCREWED UP!! worship is an act between you and God, cliche but true. no one else should matter. the cool part of the retreat was the fact that, out of the 60-odd kids that went, about 50 of them all decided to be less self-conscious in their worship. it was so awesome. instead of just standing there with hands in their pockets, kids were singing and crying and throwing their hands up with all their hearts. it was so cool. then the guest pastor said "pretend Jesus stepped out of the room for a minute. he's gonna come back in, and i'll introduce him. how often do we applaud Jesus' prescence like we do our favorite sports team?" so he "introduced" Jesus, and the room went berserk. IT WAS SO AMAZING!! ppl were screaming and falling to their knees and crying, letting it all out. i can't even describe how awesome it was.
