The Golden Compass.....Anti-God Movie?
soo how many of you have seen the trailer for The Golden Compass? well when I saw it not long ago I was immediately interested it just looked good you know but lately I found out that its not so good and I looked it up on Snopes and I will most definitely never see it this is why:

There will be a new Children's movie out in December called THE GOLDEN COMPASS. It is written by Phillip Pullman, a proud atheist who belongs to secular humanist societies. He hates C. S. Lewis's Chronical's of Narnia and has written a trilogy to show the other side. The movie has been dumbed down to fool kids and their parents in the hope that they will buy his trilogy where in the end the children kill God and everyone can do as they please. Nicole Kidman stars in the movie so it will probably be advertised a lot. This is just a friendly warning that you sure won't hear on the regular TV.
I don't just generally dismiss a movie or book just because someone 'says' it's meant to be something else...but this is worth knowing if you plan to see it (or plan to take your kids).
"Hi! I just wanted to inform you what I just learned about a movie that is coming out December 7, during the Christmas season, which is entitled THE GOLDEN COMPASS. It stars Nicole Kidman and it is directed toward children. What is disturbing to me is that this movie is based on the first of a trilogy of books for children called HIS DARK MATERIALS written by Philip Pullman of England.
He's an atheist and his objective is to bash Christianity and promote atheism. I heard that he has made remarks that he wants to kill God in the minds of children, and that's what his books are all about. He despises C.S. Lewis and Narnia, etc. An article written about him said "this is the most dangerous author in Britain" and that Pullman would be the writer "the atheists would be praying for, if atheists prayed." Pullman said he doesn't think it is possible that there is a God and he has great difficulty understanding the words "spiritual" and "spirituality." What I thought was important to communicate is what part of the agenda is for making this picture. This movie is a watered down version of the first book, which is the least offensive of the three books. The second book of the trilogy is THE SUBTLE KNIFE and the third book is THE AMBER SPYGLASS. Each book gets worse and worse regarding Pullman's hatred of God. In the trilogy, a young girl becomes enmeshed in an epic struggle against a nefarious Church known as the Magisterium. Another character, an ex-nun, describes Christianity as "a very powerful and convincing mistake." As I understand it, in the last book, a boy and girl are depicted representing Adam and Eve and they kill God, who at times is called YAHWEH (which is definitely not Allah). Since the movie would seem mild if you viewed it, that's been done on purpose.
They are hoping that unsuspecting parents will take their children to See the movie, that they will enjoy the movie and then the children will want the books for Christmas. That's the hook. Pullman says he wants the children to read the books and decide against God and the kingdom of heaven.
If you decide that you do not want to support something like this, I suggest that you boycott the movie and the books. I googled a synopsis of THE GOLDEN COMPASS. As I skimmed it, I couldn't believe that in a children's book part of the story is about castration and female circumcision.
Origins: The Golden Compass, a fantasy film starring Nicole Kidman that is scheduled to be released into theaters on 7 December 2007, has been drawing fire from concerned Christians. The film is based on Northern Lights (released in the U.S. as The Golden Compass), the first offering in Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy of children's books, a series that follows the adventures of a streetwise girl who travels
through multiple worlds populated by witches, armor-plated bears, and sinister ecclesiastical assassins to defeat the oppressive forces of a senile God.
Books of the trilogy have sold more than 15 million copies around the world, with Northern Lights winning the Carnegie Medal for Children's Literature in 2005 and in 2007 being awarded the 'Carnegie of Carnegies' for the best children's book of the past 70 years. The Amber Spyglass, the final book of the series, won The Whitbread Prize in 2001, making it the first children's book to do so.
The series' author, Phillip Pullman, is an avowed atheist who has averred that "I don't profess any religion; I don't think it's possible that there is a God; I have the greatest difficulty in understanding what is meant by the words 'spiritual' or 'spirituality.'" Critics of Pullman's books point to the strong anti-religion and anti-God themes they incorporate, and although literary works are subject to a variety of interpretations, Pullman left little doubt about his intentions when he said in a 2003 interview that "My books are about killing God." (Conservative British columnist Peter Hitchens labeled Pullman "The Most Dangerous Author in Britain" and described him as the writer "the atheists would have been praying for, if atheists prayed.")
Bill Donohue, president of The Catholic League, has condemned The Golden Compass as a "pernicious" effort to indoctrinate children into anti-Christian beliefs and has produced a 23-page pamphlet titled The Golden Compass: Unmasked in which he maintains that Pullman "sells atheism for kids." Donohoe told interviewer John Gibson on 9 October 2007 why he believes Christians should stay away from the film:
Look, the movie is based on the least offensive of the three books. And they have dumbed down the worst elements in the movie because they don't want to make Christians angry and they want to make money. Our concern is this, unsuspecting Christian parents may want to take their kid to the movie, it opens up December 7th and say, this wasn't troubling, then we'll buy the books. So the movie is the bait for the books which are profoundly anti-Catholic and at the same time selling atheism.
Other critics, however, have described Pullman's works as being more generally anti-religion rather than specifically anti-Christian or anti-Catholic:
In "His Dark Materials," Pullman's criticisms of organized religion come across as anti-authoritarian and anti-ascetic rather than anti-doctrinal. (Jesus isn't mentioned in any of the books, although Pullman has hinted that He might figure in a forthcoming sequel, "The Book of Dust.") His fundamental objection is to ideological tyranny and the rejection of this world in favor of an idealized afterlife, regardless of creed. As one of the novel's pagan characters puts it, "Every church is the same: control, destroy, obliterate every good feeling."
I hope that after having read this that if you aren't convinced you will at least take this into consideration and do some research I was looking forward to this movie but after having heard who wrote this and why I refuse to see it.
I think what I find the most disturbing is how the author said "My books are about killing God." and that he wants "the children to read the books and decide against God and the kingdom of heaven".
Update Short Post
So this will be short very short I've been writing alot lately finally got a short story done my novels gah taking so long listening to some rad music Within Temptation freaking awesome!!! The Almost pretty good like there amazing grace song.

(Killing Under Influence)
I wake up I dont remember much except I went to a party and drank way to much I remember some screams and panic then I passed out my left leg is numb but I cant see it its still dark.
It feels like Im on a raft I wonder what time it is I also wonder where I am for that matter.
Wait....... Maybe I should open my eyes duh that might help.
So I open my eyes I see a water stained panel ceiling and Im laying on a water bed........ a red water bed......... a red water bed shaped like a heart.
That's odd..... really odd, I remember my leg its in a crude splint must be sprained or broken.
I now realize somebody's laying next to me I see blondish hair out of my peripheral vision.
A girl it has to be I dont know why but gosh I hope its not a man!
II can tell she's on her side so I slowly roll over to face her and see her face.... I mean hair, her hair has fallen over her face so I reach and gently pull it behind her ear.... then jerk back horrified her face is puffy and covered in bruises and cuts her nose and jaw are obviously broken.
I reach over again this time to check the pulse on her neck..... nothing she's dead.
I jump out of the bed, at this point Ive stopped breathing, I have to leave now or Open up its the Police! the door starts banging.
Im frozen I haven't been lock boned this bad ever well almost once when I stepped on a snake when I was like two The door is banging I cant even scream the door bursts in two officers follow guns out it Officer #1 says On the floor!! and I fall face first Officer #1 keeps his gun on me and says Check the girl! Officer #2 checks for a pulse finding nothing he says She's dead.
I pass out.
When I woke up again I was in a holding cell apparently it was a open and shut case I couldn't remember anything +Dead girl+Her blood on my hands and shirt+My skin and blood under her nails+Scratches on my neck and face.
I think the judge and jury were made up of the families of murder/rape victims I got guilty and the death sentence I pass out.
Death by lethal injection not exactly a dream death but better than the chair
At least in my opinion.
Well the day came and Im strapped to a dentist like chair and there's a hypodermic needle on the tray attached to it.
A man in a white lab coat enters smiling and he says Try to relax Right I answer(not without sarcasm)After all its just DYING right? and he says Sorry buddy but I got a family just the same as anybody .
He walks over and picks up the needle flicks the air to the top and gives the plunger a tap.
Everything slips into slow motion as the needle heads for my skin.
As it pokes my arm someone bangs on the door the Doctor grunts and apologizes for the interruption.
He answers the door a man stands no rather bends over in front of the door panting and he said Innocent! he was barely able to gasp out the word.
I passed out.
This time I wake up on the couch in the Police Captains office he jumps at my waking and offers me a seat across from his desk.
I take it and he says Im so sorry for all of this and he continued to explain how they had a report the other day of a body hanging in a window they checked it out and it was a guy I knew and he had hung himself with a note pinned to his shirt and the note explained how he had killed the girl and framed me I had been at a party and after the party went to his house(completely wasted) with a girlfriend of his after we had been there awhile he started getting fresh and she didnt approve he got mad and started hitting her I tried to help but in my drunkenness wasn't much of one he hit me and I fell hitting the side of my head on his tile floor.
After I was down in his rage he killed the girl and then framed me by rubbing her blood on my shirt and hands taking her fingers and running her nails down my face and neck then seeing that my leg was twisted funny he splinted out of the mercy of his heart.
He then dumped us in a crummy Honeymoon Motel.
At this point I passed out.
But These events taught me two things first dont drink that much.
And secondly there is a God or Id be dead.

Love is its meaning lost?
So this is my first post on here and I'm going to cover a vast range in it and I wont blame you if you get bored and stop reading.
First Valentines day was a couple days ago and I've read alot of blogs about how love is "over rated" because of what people have made it today its a commodity its a past time its not sacred anymore! its sport and that is soooo wrong! I love love, love is a beautiful thing if it isnt screwed up by stupid, selfish, impulsive, motives because guys(not meaning all guys) wanna "score" and girls(not meaning all girls) want to be needed but guys if you truly love some one you should be willing to wait to "score" why? duh! it gets you in trouble and its not to bright and you could say oh there are safe ways to have sex..................nope there isnt no I lied there is its marital sex yup I said the "M word" nobody likes commitment uh-oh the "C word" yeah I know you dont like that one but once you make that commitment marriage can be a wondeful thing if its done right.
And then I've read blogs about how much it hurts to be in love because you love them so much and I can sympathise with that but if you love them(and I know I love her) I can wait and not overstep boundries so that one day we can have a healthy relationship and we wont have violated each other also I havent kissed anybody ever that was a vow I took I'm waiting until the altar A. I believe it makes my "First kiss" mean alot more B. I think that not kissing will help keep me out of situations that could go wrong "oh its just a kiss....and another...and then lets make out...... and oops how did we get in a bed?"
okay next who likes to read? me too I read all the time I just finished Lemony Snickets Series Of Unfortunate Events I liked it it was funny but different and he had alot of good points in it I am presently reading Desiring God by John Piper and Edgar A. Poes Complete Works and Shakespere among many others but my favorite book is the Bible its a almost like a fantasy fiction I mean it had demons, angels, dragons, fell beasts,fire from heaven only thing its not fiction.
I love all of Ted DekKers books they are flippin' sweet Thr3e is the best one I've read so far.
And I know I came on hard with this post I mean its like one of those POW!! in your face kind of post not easy reading and I wouldnt be surprised if you havent read this far and dont you dare leave a comment about tolerance I say flip your tolerance when you tolerate my christianity I'll tolerate you christianity is the only religion they dont want to have to tolerate you all the people are like just tolerate the muslims................whos trying to blow who into tomorrow.
Well I think thats gonna be it for this post and if you've read this far I encourage you to come back I'm not some stiff backed close minded idiot I'm just expressing my sentiments on these subjects as it is my right to since I live in Free Country U.S.A at least its a free country for now but dont get me started on that maybe some other time.
one last thing who thinks Five Iron Frenzy should get together for a reunion tour say Heck Yeah!
