the whine of a diesel engine. rubber melting on tarred surfaces, with stamp of the brakes. screeching of tires in protest to reckless driving. impatient beeps of car honks in nearly futile attempts to swerve and avoid collisions. ears hurt. eyes water from the ensuing pain. choking, nearly hacking up respiratory organs from the dust thrown up from rest, a bid perhaps to escape gravity and show unhappiness from being unsettled. read more

haha i think the aunty that cleans the tandas just outside the canteen must be sick and tired of me. every time i go in, i end up tripping the sensors and rousing her from her slumber. and the worst is i'm practically clockwork, so the deepest part of her sleep i disturb. and since it was the holidays, i was the only one there. so i wound up having to walk all the way towards oldham so that i won't disturb her. then i'll end up forgetting, then the lights go on again! and... she's left for hom… read more

so... even i am amazed at the amount of self-discipline that i possess to park my(flat)ass on a cold hard plastic bench and study from the lengthy hours of 9 to 6. damn that's long! haha so i have to come home and chill. i dislike it when people truncate words inappropriately and unnecessarily, which means if you happen to use shortforms, you are being inappropriate. poo you. it brings about with it an air of disrespect, like 'oh i'm to important to type out the whole word which would leav… read more

happy teachers' day. yay. grooving to sophie ellis baxtor is some respite for this soul. when i finally managed to get home, i realised i had spent 11 hours in school. such is the life i lead. today was one of a rather defeatist attitude. despondance was my middle name, although the humor that resulted and emanated from my answers were quite well received. oh and i was told to stop talking like a novel; perhaps i was compared to a verbose piece of flowery writing. i can help it, i supp… read more

hzz. actually i should be on my way to cell like right now (18:02), but sloth has taken over me and i want to just bum around at home. i guess i actually do require some strange innate and unconscious sort of mental preparation to get off my lazy ass and make my way to church. hmm i feel slightly remorseful, but oh wells. let's see let's see... monday tuesday wednesday thursday friday. not surprisingly i have little to no recollection of theis week's happenings. i love the song i want you… read more

on my way home while waiting for the bus, a young boy and his mother loomed in the horizon, and they stopped just short of where i was sitting. she was the typical sporean mother, middleaged and with a slight paunch and with mother pants; he was the typical sporean child, lonely and myopic. so i heard her inquire the child as to what colour he was fond of. to which, the reply came with a proclamation of pride, red! the mother reacted in immense disgust and appallation, and much to his chagrin,… read more

this week was a week of death. people, spirits, feelings have all passed on to perhaps a better place, perhaps a worse place. indeed it did not culminate into an empty abyss of nothingness, but is that not blind grasping at thin air? what keeps us going? hope for a better tomorrow? friends and family that may just disappoint in a single moment? why not just laze about in bed? while the time staring at cracks in the wall whilst thinking of funny stories to amuse ones-self? alright so lik… read more

woah the KI symposium was an awful waste of time! made me miss all of carpenter's tools. and what the hci people presented was a mere recap of the first day's lecture and there were absolutely no new insights or perspectives. and it was all, just look it all up on wikipedia and paste it there!! at least yiren's one was pretty good. and the worse part was the hci team made a whole host of factual errors! so nai and i were making jibes about it. then we all went back to school in a vain bid to w… read more

i was brooding over what an anecdote that someone had shared with me quite a while back. it was about a mutual frend who had blurted out his surprise at finding out that one of their classmates was a Christian. at that popint in time, i was a tad stunned at the fella's audacity, and furthermore i was forced to think about how we who proclaim the LORD's name may actually be doing it in vain. how indeed we should be 'beacons of truth and light'. haha. but i digress. in the recent observation of… read more

hmm... browsing through all of the profile pictures of the olympian atheletes, one thing that is common amongst all of them is that the pictures do them no justice in real life. they all kind of look like terrorists to me, when some are actually pretty darn easy in the eyes. 50 days to promos and already i don't feel like studying. life is just too short to do much. had some national day burning of food into unrecognisable charred bits. it has practically become a ritual in itself. oh and… read more

how in the world does the consummate of a marriage last a lifetime? seeing the same person for everyday for the rest of your life? that seems near impossible. yet millions of people have done it. perhaps i would be inclined to have an affair. is it love that is the binding agent? good looks? heck, even sex? why stay in a relationship for such a long time? and bound by a legal contract and holy matrimony, i might add. surely there would be some stability and security, but to the point of virtua… read more

i said yes. i hope i'm not making a horribly wrong decision. well... pw is actually starting to come into fruition! haha the last minute slogging is finally bearing fruits. hooray for the small things in life. the annual ikea catalogue is here for oratory and visual and imaginative fun! i think my favorite part of the whole magazine is its strange, pressed ply wood fragrance, with just a hint of wood glue and enough to keep you anticipating your next trip to that magical land of flat pac… read more

you know how parents like to ask their toddlers wheteher they would like a baby brother or sister? and that's because they are already pregnant? what if the child says no? does it even matter what the child's opinion is? it's not like if the child strongly disagrees and throws tantrums that the parents would abort the 'baby brother or sister'. so why ask? i guess it is a courtesy question, but it gives one false hope. and furthermore it results in the simplifying of what a human is. by posing… read more

i was just thinking to myself how we (or i, whichever is more acurate) would think that it was absolutely the most hilarious thing in the world to mangle the lyrics of a popular nursery rhyme and make it about something that can only be funny to children who have yet to be exposed to a whole host of other funny sounding words. for example, baa baa black sheep would be bra bra black sheep and then the song would procced to announce in explicit detail what type of lingerie the sheep was wearing.… read more

i will only talk about the good things that happened. life is so much more pleasant when the bad things are ignored and swept under the carpet. and allowed to implode shortly thereafter. played touch rugby! that was so fun. but i reckon having to pass the ball between my legs was creepy, to say the least. and gross? haha quite funny to see people's shoes in an angle that only nauseuos people should have to hold. ass in the air! ball thrown and received! streaking (and more often then not s… read more
