my name is vanessa, my friends call me vee. i love a wide variety of music, from Amon Amarth to Jefferson Airplane, Patsy Cline to Iron Maiden, although my favorite band is Switchfoot. i love listening to and playing music more than almost anything. i've been singing for a few years, playing piano for about 7 years, and guitar for about 1. 
The Penalty For Bubblegum Pop Is Death
i had to write a type of poem called a sonnet for my english class, and this is what i came up with...
The jonas brothers make me oh-so sick.
Disgusting, sad excuse for rock and roll,
Abomination, ars’nic for the soul.
The death of them would give me such a kick.
I have a dream to flush them down the drain.
My heart, it wants to bring them doom and gore.
I’ll beat them, stab them, batter them and more.
I want to see them die with lots of pain.
The first will drown in his own blood and see,
The next will be impaled on his guitar.
The last can lose his limbs to a huge axe.
Of course, I won’t mind much if somebody
Else thinks like me and hits them with their car,
So long as they have jack knives in their backs.

Switchfoot, rock, and why
Hailing from San Diego, Switchfoot is my most favoritest band ever. They don't sound quite like most of the other stuff I listen to, and most people who know me would think that they are a little soft for my taste, and yet I love them more than any other band I have ever known. I like their sound, their ambition to be different from the other bands, to stand out in their own, unpolished way. Their motives for and attitudes toward music lead to their ability to be aware of yet not puffed up in their greatness. Guitarist, lead vocalist and lyricist (not to mention harmonica player) Jon Foreman doesn't write songs based on what the world wants to hear. He bases them on his life and the things he feels have importance, like God, peace, and problems in our world that desperately need to be fixed. All in all, Switchfoot is a great band with even greater intentions.
