Sykesville, iTunes and the Mets
A lot has been going on in the last few weeks. I love my job, I love my girlfriend, I love life... and um... hmm.. I'm just a big ball of love, aren't I? Maya and I recently passed the 2-year mark back on October 9th, and it's only gonna get better and better! I went down to see her in Sykesville, MD a few weeks ago for the occasion, and I'm due back there for her birthday weekend in November. She's gonna be down there until March, so I'll be making many a trip down to see her while she's completing her internship.
Soundscape Soul. If you didn't already know, that's my band with good ol' Matt Aronson. A lot has happened for us as well. Back in June, we officially released our debut album, Within State Lines, at our CD Release Party. Just recently, we received even better news about the album. It was accepted into the iTunes Music Store! Not only is this a huge jump into the mainstream, but the album is way cheaper for people to buy in iTunes! Along with the iTunes news, we're getting ready for Round 2 of the *Big Push* competition on AmericanIdolUnderground.com in a couple of weeks. In that round, we would need a large number of high ratings to move on to the final round, which could win us around $20,000 and a ton of prizes for the band! Other than that, Matt and I have been toying around with a few demos, trying to put together some more songs for a second album in the future, and looking into booking some shows for the winter/spring.
In other news, the Mets got eliminated by the Cardinals in the NLCS, so my World Series tickets are officially worthless. But that's alright, since I'll get my $400 back in a few weeks. They had a killer run, and they'll be back for next year's postseason!
