homecoming.

Homecoming! That is what every high school athlete longs for; a chance to make his hometown proud. I also have longed for that chance. It came for me and started off well. But did it end well? I couldnt decide at first.
I went early. I was having a fair hair-day. I was pumped for the game. When the homecoming procession was said and done I earned the title of homecoming king. (What could go wrong?) But the senior candidate that everyone thought would win queen got runner up and a junior won. Which isnt bad in itself, but is very disappointing for a senior who now has lost her last chance. No matter who won queen it still would have been hard to place that crown on her head. WHICH OF COURSE IT WAS. (Because the crown has all those spiky things on the bottom and the girls hair was put up all crazy.) Anyway, the homecoming procession ended and the girls game began. If you could have sat by me you would have been at least two of two things: #1 Your ears would have been most totally numb. #2 You would have got TOTALLY CRUNK cheering for the home team! Because not only is homecoming awesome for the athletes, but also for the fans! (If they so choose.) And Im tellin you, it was awesome. The whole area where my friend and I were sitting was a total uproar! They couldnt help but yell and scream with us. I think the girls ended up getting beat very badly. But who cared? Not I. Because win or lose, I was still proud of my school at homecoming. Does that make losing easy? NO. Cause I havent explained about the boys game yet. (Which was full of total bull crap!!!) The boys game started off absolutely swank. Thats all I can say. How could it not be when your team runs out to the song rawkfist! Anyway, the refs looked all right at first glance. Whew! Looks can be deceiving! Because when it was time for the opening tip-off, the ref was telling the kid I was jumping against(who was considerably shorter than I), not to worry about the tip-off. Well, the ref didnt even toss the ball in the air. He flicked it. In the direction of shortstuff. The opposing b-ball player had a chance at it then, but luckily my arms were long enough to swat it from him. The ref was trying to make sure the other kid would get the tip-off! How ludicrous! It got worse. I got three fouls in two minutes and had to sit on the bench half the game. While the other team was hacking away at our team and there were no fouls called on them. Our opponents team had only one foul called in the third quarter, while five were called on us. The mind blowing part of that was that the other team was running a full court press! There are always at least a few fouls when you run a press. To make a long story short, the referees kept calling bogus fouls on our team, and barely any on the other. I fouled out on senior night/homecoming. Happy homecoming to me. I jammed my finger badly early in the game which is still really swollen even today. My mom missed the senior night activity at half-time because it was supposed to be after the game. And of course our team lost our game pitifully. You can imagine that I was depressed. But I got to thinkingIt was still homecoming. Sure it was full of highs and lows. But it was homecoming! The fans of the Dustin Redskins clapped for us. A few fans even carried on school spirit and were yelling at the refs for me. I was proud of my fans, and they were proud of me. That my friends, is what homecoming is all about.

concert

"keep one eye open..." Yeah im still singing a song from a The Wedding concert. Man, was i rockin' out! It was totally swank! Anyway, it's me again. I haven't posted a blog post for a while so I thought I'd type somthin' up. So just bear with me. I'm just writing as I go along. The band was cool. They had kinda of different style though. They mixed cowboy like belts with rocker jeans. I'm gonna have to try that. I was one of the only true rockers there, but me and a few others rocked out. Yeah, and the band was pretty nice to.(they signed all the junk I brought along, and they acted like they thought I was cool.) I never usually end a blog without a point, so my point is this: if you think listening to a band's music on cd is as fun as rockin out with them at a concert, then you are so wrong. peace out.

prom

Post prom drama fallout sucks. Cause my date lives o so far away. So now that prom is over we wont be able to kick it. Sad. Anyway prom was awsome! It sucked that it was all hip-hop music though. When the dj played the one and only rock song of prom, me and my date had the whole crowd jumpin(head bashing and whatnot). It was the best part of prom. Note to self: next time I should skip prom and take my date crowd surfing at a rock concert instead.

freedom

Jesus told the people who had faith in him, "If you keep on obeying what I have said, you are truly my disciples. You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." They answered, "We are Abraham's children! We have never been anyone's slaves. How can you say we will be set free?"
Jesus replied: I tell you for certain that anyone who sins is a slave of sin! And slaves don't stay in the the family forever, though the Son will always remain in the family. If the Son gives you freedom, you are free! (John 8:31-36)
-What Jesus is trying to tell the world, is that humans are slaves. We are slaves to drugs, lust, money, sex, hatred, and many other things. The thing is, Jesus want to set us free. If you believe in, and follow Jesus, he will give you freedom. True freedom. Freedom indeed!
