XFactor1, Shadows Fall, Lacuna Coil, Stone Sour

Last weekend I went to the Jagermeister Tour in Columbus with Travis, Sarah R, and Dayton. It was amazing (except for the reek of marijuana in the air). We saw XFactor1 open the performance; they are a metal band from Columbus. I was surprised that they opened because after watching them I realized that Birth Victim sounds a lot like them. Birth Victim is Travis' band; it's pretty new and we're looking for venues to play.

Shadows Fall was pretty good for a metal band. I have to admit I am not a fan of screaming, so I won't comment much about them. The singer had dreadlocks all the way down to just below his knees and he was spinning it around on stage and headbanging. That was pretty strange to see, and I have no idea how it didn't hurt his head.

Lacuna Coil. The only reason I went was because I had been wanting to see Lacuna Coil for months and months. I finally got to see them! They are amazing. Cristina Scabbia is amazing. She is beautiful and has a great voice. I tend to hear people endlessly praise Evanesence and Amy Lee's voice. She has a great voice and all, but Cristina's is deeper, richer, and more powerful. I think she is sexier as well. The icing on the cake was that I was able to get the band to autograph my poster and Cristina autographed my ticket. I wish the line wasn't so long and I wasn't so shy that I could have talked with them a little bit like the journalist that I am. But, no such luck.

Stone Sour was great, just like you would imagine. However, the show was a little bit off in my opinion. Corey Taylor shaved his head for one, and second he wasn't in the right mindset because he had a relative pass away that day. He interrupted "Bother" to tell the audience about the death. I can understand and sympathize with him, but the interruption annoyed me. I'm sorry if that sounds rude, but that is one of my favorite songs by him. I also enjoyed "Through the Glass" and unfortunately I don't think he played "Take a Number."

I would definitely recommend seeing Lacuna Coil if you get the chance.

Love,
Sarah
