Get ready for the ride of your life, folks!!! It's me... It's me, Simply Amazing. To those
who know me, you know me well, those who don't, I'm pretty swell. It's been awhile
since I've used that monkier, and things have changed a lot for me since then, but I
hope you all enjoy my music and support those who make it.
My supreme favorites: TOKYO ROSE, ANGELS AND AIRWAVES, ROSES ARE RED,
ANGELAS DISH, WHEN THE LEAF SEARED, POLARIS, and STATEPARK.
My family comes first and foremost. I am a happily married man, a loving father, and try
my best to raise my kids with the best I have.
These bands all represent my diary of life. Each song a page, each album a chapter.
I hope you take the time to appreciate these guys as much as I do. I love music, and it will
always be my escape...
I never thought I'd be back in a steel mill after college, but I've learned to never say never anymore.
I have been on the job at Mittal Steel for six years now and loved evey moment.
I am really glad I haven't pursued my field further than I did because I now realize that it takes a lot money to support a family and live very comfortable.
The news arena in S.C. does not provide for that. I would have to move elsewhere. Out of state, for starters.
I have been used to 12-hour shifts for about two years until we recently went to a more flexable 8-hour shift.
It allows more time for me to spend with my family. This is something I cherish deeply.
My wife, Adrie, and I met a day before I was to leave for NY (a surprise move by me to just say SCREW IT, I need to move on). No one knew I was going to leave except for me. I was going to pack up and go.
I never left, as you can see and we married in November 2001.
I have three kids, two stepchildren and one of my own. Really, they're all mine.
I love them all very much.
These are the motivators in my life. I think about them all the time while at work. It makes me very happy to know I don't have to struggle for money to provide for my family.
A day at the mill provides me security, insurance and a piece of mind that eases me.
I have nothing aganist my field, but I realize one thing. Heck, I realized it right after I walked out of an interview with a TV station in Columbia in 1999: To make money in this field, a lot of money, you have to OWN what you do.
I wish to OWN a radio station in Georgetown one day. If that day never comes, I can say I was very happy with my family and was proud to be a GAMECOCK.
I take my education very seriously and apply it to my job every single day.
I am a shopsteward for our union and an active person for workers' rights.
That alone makes me proud of what I do.
Until next time...
