From a band that got placement on the MySpace Music front page, alongside Madonna and the Roots, for a solid week. Here are the numbers:
number of times their music was played: around 20,000
number of MySpace friend requests: 1200
number of mailing list signups: over 100
number of CDs sold: ZERO
Interesting. Muy interesting indeed. This is spawning some interesting discussion here and here. I wonder if we're getting the same type of results here at purevolume.

Well, we've finally released the new purevolume out of the cozy confines of our development server into the scary, big internet world. She's been dragging a bit the first couple of days, but that will change soon. More servers are being put in place to balance the load and make sure every tasty byte finds its way quickly and safely to your computer.
Everyone here at pv really poured their heart and soul into this re-design. We've taken great lengths to ensure that music stays first here and that it's given an environment in which it looks good, sounds good and interacts well with people.
