Been going to several shows lately, and loving it. I saw Jack's Mannequin four times and Cute is What We Aim For twice. Andrew McMahon is amazing live. Honestly, I think I like him more than I like his music. It's hard to explain, but being able to experience him as a performer and live is beyond amazing. No matter what is going on in my life, all I can do is smile in his prescense. The boys of Cute is What We Aim For are sweethearts. I love those kids. And their energy on stage is awesome. Most likely a new obsession. Seeing them again in July. On Monday I leave for Vegas to see Panic! At the Disco and The Hush Sound. Hopefully I'll be able to meet P!ATD as I wasn't given the chance last time I saw them. I've only been to Vegas once before, and when I was very young so I'm excited for this experience. Speaking of which, I should be out shopping for that right now.
peace.

Sunday through Tuesday were my Fall Out Boy stalking days, I guess you could say. My friend Justin told me they would be playing a secret show Sunday night, and invited me to join him and Jiggs. It was a show for The Hush Sound at Chain Reaction in Anaheim, and FOB came out after THS closed their set. There were only about 100 people there, but it got kind of crazy. Thankfully, I was able to hold my own and stay pretty close to the front. The boy's only played three songs, but it was awesome.
Then, on Monday Cassie and I went to Jay Leno to see the boy's. They were supposed to perform outdoor, but due to the rain, they had to move the show inside. Cassie and I are part of Overcast Kids (FOB's fan club) and were supposed to be on the band's guest list. When we heard the outdoor performance was cancelled, we got tickets just to be safe. We ended up not being on FOB's guest list, so it's a good thing we got tickets. And, it ended up working to our advantage. We got seats on the floor closest to the band, and unfortunately the other OCK's were placed in the back.
Then, last night Cassie and I went to see FOB at the LA Sports Arena. Being OCK, we got into the arena early, and got good spots on the barricade. I don't care what anyone says, FOB is amazing live. I absolutely loved them. After the show, we had a meet & greet. The m&g went better than I was expecting, actually. It was rushed, but not as bad as I thought it would be. When they did autographs, I told Patrick how much I loved his voice, and I think I gushed too much because he was like, "Thank you. Well...you know." Or something like that. Very humble. Next was Joe and I don't know why, but I said, "My friend is in love with you." He kind of laughed and said, "Oh really?" I said, "Yeah." Then he asked, "Who?" So I pointed to her, and he just smiled. I kind of missed saying anything to Andy because when I was talking to Joe, he signed my poster, and I went on to Pete. All the guys were being generic and asking, "Hi how are you?" Well, I have this sensual look I give people, and when Pete asked how I was doing, I gave him my look and in a flirty tone said, "I'm good. How are you?" He laughed and smiled kind of like, "Wow, wtf?"
When we did pictures, I asked Pete if I could stand next to him and he said, "Yeah, lets do it!" I had bought him an air freshner that says I HEART MY PENIS! (there was an actual heart on it, not the word) And I handed it to him after the picture and he just started laughing. Then I handed him a letter I wrote and I said, "Don't throw this away, ok?" And he said, "I'm not going to! That's bullshit!" I told him, "I know, I was kidding." He said, "Okay good." Then he hugged me and said, "Bye sweetheart."
It turned out to be a really good experience. I'd still like to meet them in a more intimate setting where I could talk to them longer, but I'm content for now.

Since it's technically Monday...Last night I went to The Starting Line show in Hollywood. It was awesome. The more shows I attend, the more I want to go to. It was at Henry Fonda Theatre, and although it looked crappy on the outside, it was nice inside. I went with my friend Cassie, and we wanted to leave fairly early to make sure we'd be in front (we are both short). Our plans were changed, and we arrived much later than we would've liked, but ended up being second in line. We of course were in front, and pretty much in the center. The show opened around 6pm with New Atlantic (they are quickly becoming my new obsession), and followed with Cartel, Gatsby's American Dream, and Copeland. The crowd was pretty mild until GAD, so I held onto the barricade so I wouldn't be moved around. Once TSL came out, the crowd got a little rough. This drunk guy made his way behind me, and was trying to push me over. I made him aware I wasn't moving, and he told me he was trying to get out. I overheard him tell someone else to give him a boost the next time a crowd surfer was pulled, so I let him next to me so he could get out. After getting a security guard over and explaning he wanted out, the drunk denied it and said, "This is my ex, and she starts rumors about me, right Denise?" He then whispered to me, "Is your name Denise" and proceeded to put his arm around me. I pushed him away and said, "I don't know you". Once the next crowd surfer was pulled, he jumped the barricade and tried to rush the stage. It took three security guards about five minutes to throw him out the back door. Despite the craziness and the pain of my small body being slammed against the barricade, I enjoyed myself. After the show, we headed to the merch booths. I ended up talking to Gio from New Atlantic and Will from Cartel for a while. I got both of their autographs, but wanted pictures also. I hadn't taken my camera in because I wasn't sure how strictly the rule would be inforced. I asked Gio and Will how long they'd be there, both said about 40 minutes, so I ran to my car. Thankfully, it was only a block away. During this time, they started closing up the venue, so when I came back, I was stopped by a security guard. I told him I had a friend inside, and as the security guy was asking who, Gio came up and basically said, "It's cool, she's with us." I thought that was pretty rad. So, I got my pictures, chatted with the boys a little more and headed out. All in all, a pretty sweet night.
Peace.
