December 18

O how heaven's heart must have broke, the day you came.

Today at church the sermon really touched me so I wanted to share it with you all. I never thought of Christmas this way till today showed me a new side. Janet the pastor talked about the three gifts that the wisemen brough Jesus. These three gifts they all brought to us.

1. Gold- The gift of royalty. We are princes and princesses. What do you see when you look in the mirror?? God made us all Gold. We are worth something and so much more then we think.

2. Frankincense

pt1- The gift of suffering. God uses suffering to help us relate to others. Christmas brings suffering to the surface.

2 Corinthians 1:4,5

4who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

5For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.

Pt2- The gift of holliness ( being totally dedicated to God)
1 peter 1:3,4

3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

4and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fadekept in heaven for you,

3. Myrrh- The gift of sacrifice.

Heaven's heart must of have broke the day you came. The moment Christ was born heaven knew that his suffering and death would come. Christmas came and brought easter, its b.c of Christmas that Jesus was able to pay the greatest price for us. He was born, heaven sent him here knowing he would soon be sacrificed for us. Imagine the heart break when they sent Jesus to us.

2 Corinthians 1:7

7And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort

"The greatest gift of Christmas is Jesus!"

Today I was really touched. Jesus is the greatest gift of all and hes done so much! The greatest sacrifice to die for mine and your sins so that we could be free. Jesus came to to earth to die. Thats what "O how Heaven's heart must broke the day you came", means. The moment Jesus was born they knew he would soon suffer, and die for us. They knew all the pain that he would endure for us. Christmas leads to Easter. It all starts with his birth then the road leads to his death. Just like our lives too. We are born and we die. The great thing is that Jesus rose again and is ALIVE!
