well, i love music and finding new bands. i dont really know what music type i like best, i guess powerpop, screamo, emo, and combinations of the three. but ill like any type of band if theyre good. to get a better idea of my music, check out my favorites list and read my blogs!!

MEDIA MADE

hey everyone. long time no blog. well, im back and ive found a fabulous band that i'd like to tell everyone about. they're called media made. the first time i listened to them, i was really impressed that they could play such a wide range of music-and in only four songs. some of their music is soft and slow, while some is more upbeat and poppy. all of their songs have a really distinct sound, seperating them from the million other bands out there. my favorite song by them is "picture perfect." it starts with an amazing guitar intro, which can be heard a bit throughout the rest of the song. its slow, but really catchy. as a matter of fact, this song has been stuck in my head for the past few days. the lyrics in this song are incredible-deep and witty at the same time. the chorus, "You're picture perfect, you're worth a thousand words a masterpiece between you and me and what could be," is simply incredible. my favorite line is "Is it love? is it lust? in this moment I trust." brilliant right? and as if that's not enough, this band has a singer with not only a really good voice, but one thats really different from almost anything ive ever heard. it has an addictive quality about, that makes you want to keep listening. well, hope that wasn't too long, but media made is a band im really into right now. i would tell anyone who likes emo, pop, or rock music to go listen to them. http://www.purevolume.com/MediaMade dont know if links work on blogs, but w/e. SOLO 67

okay, well, today's blog is about a really incredible band called solo 67. they are insanely amazing. they have a fun overall sound that sounds almost power-pop-ish, but at the same time you can tell how much work went into their music. every song is better than the next with this band. all of the instruments can be heard seperetly and all sound amazing on their own. they also come together really well without overpowering each other. here are some of the lyrics to the song "last thing" "You were the last thing on my mind a sure release of innocence a memory i left behind just dont get too close ill only leave you all alone to miss me all the most... and i know somewhere she's starting to think i wish i could just see you but its just so hard to get thru and when the past becomes the future im done" wow, these lyrics are like the exact opposite of every teenage pop-star complaining about love. "i'll only leave you all alone, to miss me all the most." this is so different from most songs, which pretty much all say the same thing "i love this person, they don't love me, it sucks." this song offers a different point of view and i really like that. this song starts out with slow and soft music, for about 5 seconds, and then gets really intense. the drums follow along and stand out all at once and the bass and guitar add a really good, almost melodic tune to this song. the song "the truth is" is also really amazing. this song probably boasts the best vocals of any of their songs. for about the first 10 seconds of this song there's not much music in the background so all you really hear is the singing and OH MY GOD it really took my breath away. when the music starts up the vocals fade into the music a bit, but they still sound amazing. "Stay, stay here if you want just so you know I can't promise much but this I'm sure, you'll end up giving up" those are the first lines of the song and they are sung SO INCREDIBLY. you really have to listen to this song. i absolutely love it. anyway, this blog has been kind of long so im gonna end it here, but go check out solo 67. i love these guys! ONE STAR STORY

OHHHH EMMMM GEEEEEE (haha). i would just like to say one star story is one of the most incredible bands EVER. the song "tears behind a smile" is such a great song. the guitar intro is so great, i could listen to it over and over. plus the lyrics are just......just so great there is no adjective to describe them. "I left behind the very person who swore to stay. The face you see is just the mask I chose to wear today. Don't wanna talk, don't wanna talk about it. I'll hide my tears behind a smile so that's all you can see." everyone has those days, and now you have a song to go with them. AMAZINGNESS. also, the song say anything is really good. the drums are sooooooooooo great, and work PERFECTLY with the bass. one star story, without a doubt, has the best drummer in the whole world. lastly, let us not forget how amazing the vocals are. is there anything vanessa can't sing? well, go check this band out, because i absolutely LOVE them.

MAYDAY PARADE

ok so im sure everyone already knows how incredible mayday parade is, but whatever. basically, I've been listening to "a lesson in romantics" non-stop lately. at first I really liked it and thought the songs were good, and it was a good album but nothing special. but the more I listen to it, the more I keep noticing. first of all, not only are the lyrics cute and clever, but they're really full of emotion and meaning. even though I don't really know what they're about, I do know this band has something to say. next is their music. at first all the songs sound slow and pretty, but they are put together so well and the more I listen to them I hear so many little details i never noticed before. and of course, the vocals are beyond amazing. lastly, the album is so well put together. the last song "you be the anchor that holds my feet to the ground" is the PERFECT ending to the album. it's one of those songs that keeps echoing in your ears and by the time you realize the song is over you have no clue how much time has passed, a minute, five minutes, you're just too in shock at how powerful the last line of the song is, and how well it's sung. "I could stand here for hours just to ask god the question, is everyone here makebeleive, with a tear in his voice he said son that's the question, does deafening silence mean nothing to no one but me." amazing right? well sorry if that was a really long blog but I am just continually amazed by this band. anyone who doesn't know mayday parade go check them out. good job mayday parade, you guys are amazing. DIVIDED BY FRIDAY
