Does it leave you shattered,
distraught thought after thought,
leaving you to reach in vain,
your silent voice yelling out to cease the wretched pain?

Love; does it leave you alone, crying yourself to sleep?
Will it abandon and leave you broken from deceit,
not caring the slightest if you ever manage to get back on your feet?

Love; is it physical and dreamy?
Does it use you and leave behind lustful needs,
digging you a shallow empty hole,
a life of mistrust and depression,
only to steal your once beloved smile?

Love; is it really such a simple word, and nothing more?
Will it provoke you to despise all who walk the world,
feeling misery in this wake of lies,
constantly pounding at your skull,
your body cradled, rocking back and forth,
itching to break out and regain control?

Love; is it meant to be miserable or saddening?
Does it find satisfaction in leaving hearts cold and broken,
possessing you to act out of despair,
pushing away all those who truly care?



You thought that THIS was love? You best smarten up.

Why is it that you carry on and live in this way?
What draws you in, causing you to believe in false love?
Do you enjoy living a life of fear and doubt?
What sort of heart relies upon a lie? Answer me that.

What is love really? For real.

Love is guidance from a leading and trustworthy hand,
a person you have not but the utmost faith in,
because you know where they stand.
You can look in to their eyes and know that they're sincere,
and you can rely on them fully,
because they tell you what you need to hear.

Love is kind and caring.
When you've fallen there'll be a gentle hand,
someone with respect for you, to care for you,
and see to it, that the best is brought out in you.

Love is understanding, and forgiving.
At times love is tested,
the old heart strings get tense,
but no matter what happens,
forgiveness triumphs in the end.

Sometimes even emotional,
this proves that love is deep.
Tears cried together for no apparent reason,
true beauty laid upon your heart.
The joy of one single season,
spent in admiration.

Love is more than just a word or feeling.
Always thoughtful and gentle,
it will wipe away those tears for you,
and on the most random of days,
no need for holidays,
there will be a special gift for you.
Waiting on the table, wrapped with a single bow,
a heart-shaped box, contents unknown.

Love is truthful and trustworthy,
reliable and forever honest.
Love is having mutual beliefs,
goals and outlooks on life.
It's about having one person on your mind,
the best memories on replay and rewind.

Unfortunately love is often taken for granted,
it's not beyond us.

Love is not physical or sensual,
true love is purely spiritual.
straight up eye-gazing, quote raising,
random inspiration.
Words flow from ink as the pen hits the page,
pitter-patter back and forth,
