Tension In the Air

By: Yours Truly

There's a pressure in the air

Step outside, you can feel it

The storm approaching

A breeze carries the little birds

Flapping and squawking

And there's tension in the air

The sun rises slowly

And there's tension in the air

As you turn to go

I beg you to just stay

Don't leave me here, not now, I need you

You always told me not to

But I just wanted to play

And there's tension in the air

Storm clouds gather now

Thunder rumbles

Dead leaves flutter off the branches

And there's tension in the air

As the rain begins to pour

So do the tears

We fought it so long

But now the battle's over

And we know we've lost

It's over

It can't go on

And there's tension in the air
