I work at Virb Inc, the parent company of sites like PureVolume, Virb, and Cottyn.
When I'm not being all nerdy in front of my computer, you might find me playing video games, reading Spider-Man comics, or stealing glances of ladies I pass by from the corner of my eye.
I was in a book store today and decided to check out the new releases. Historically I've been a big reader of fiction and non, but over the last few years I haven't had as much time as I used to. As I'm looking at all the covers, I come across one half way down the shelf that grabs my attention and stops my roaming eyes immediately. At first I can't quite understand what I'm seeing. "No," I think, "They couldn't have possibly made this into a book. Not this." After taking a few moments to absorb and accept the reality of the book in front of me, I start to laugh out loud. I, like many others, choose laughter as a way to cope with the absurd. The ludicrous. The crazy.
The book in question?
Snakes On A Plane.
The whole brilliance, the entire appeal of the movie this book is a novilation of, is right there in the title. Snakes. On. A. Plane. I want to see this movie, and its not because I think it has a top notch story. No... its because of snakes; particularly the part where they're on a plane. The best part of this movie will be the part with snakes on a plane. The worst part of this movie will be the part with snakes on a plane. If you haven't seen the teaser trailer for this, do it now. It's brilliant.
So... I turned 25 this month. I am really, really, old. I have now received the last perks that our society bestowes upon the under 65, which is cheaper car insurance and no surcharge if I choose to rent a car. Sigh...
In other news, most of us are going to the axis on saturday to catch we are the fury playing with head automatica. It should be pretty sweet. We saw Mute Math there just the other day... they put on a great show. I mean come on.. the man had a guitar piano... or is it piano guitar? Well regardless, he had it, and he rocked out on it. I recommend checking out the show.. they put a lot of energy into it.
So, after what seems like a lifetime, we have finally gotten PV3 launched
Brett and I are still working on the new listener profiles and artist profiles; but we like to take breaks evey now and then to play pool. We just had such a break, in where I destroyed Brett so bad I actually saw him cry. It was sad really. Next up on the hurt train: Flamming Tuzzolo.
My little sister invited me to a Dashboard Confessional show at the Avalon next Friday, so I told her I'd go with her. This isn't helping my "no time" problem, but its cool to take a break every now and then too. Also my sister Jessica is getting me two tickets to the New Amsterdams at the end of October in Noho. That's pretty cool too.
