so long, lonesome.
I've been searching a long time
For someone exactly like you
I've been travelling all around the world
Waiting for you to come through.
Someone like you makes it
All worth while
Someone like you keeps
Me satisfied. Someone exactly
Like you.
I've been travellin' a hard road
Lookin' for someone exactly like you
I've been carryin' my heavy load
Waiting for the light to come
Shining through.
Someone like you makes it
All worth while
Someone like you keeps
Me satisfied. Someone exactly
Like you.
I've been doin' some soul searching
To find out where you're at
I've been up and down the highway
In all kinds of foreign lands
Someone like you... [etc.]
I've been all around the world
Marching to the beat of a different
Drum.
But just lately I have
Realised
The best is yet to come.
Someone like you...
Be this sunset soon forgotten
Your brothers left here shaved and crazy
We've learned to hide our bottles in the well
And what's worth keeping, sun still sinking
Down and down
Once again
Down and down
Gone again
Be this sunset one for keeping
This june bug street sings low and lovely
Those band-aid children
Chased your dog away
She runs, returning, sun still sinking
Down and down
Once again
Down and down
Gone again
For days and weeks I made the parting call. I cupped my hands, my mouth in "O." I shouted saying, "Brothers, hold my fading arms in the air, I am weak!" They just faded there, my voice was gone. Who will rescue me from this body, not the arms, the fingers still yes, they feel what they touch as well, cut the cords. Let the ancient Adam go. I've been dancing with this corpse for nineteen years. And when I said, "Who will shave my head, and on the might, reveal me in my skin?" All the secrets of fitness: all the fitness He requires is to feel your need for Him.*** In my room, in my room, in this gospel I have made, salvation is a broken cistern in a handmade frame. I cut the sheets into a flag, paint it red, self-pity hangs over the doorway in. From seven times seventy scraping knees, blood lets, deficiencies, these are the layers of bandages, protection from the sting. In this great lacking, I've found a way. And when I said, "Who will shave my head, and on that might reveal me in my skin?" All the secrets of fitness: all the fitness He requires is to feel your need for Him.*** Who will rescue me from this body, not the arms, the fingers still yes, they feel what they touch as well, cut the cords. Let the ancient Adam go. I've been dancing with this corpse for nineteen years.

Wow! I\'ve been planning on seeing them for months
now. They come here on the 19th, and I can\'t wait. I
actually just listened to Page France and Colour Revolt
yesterday, and I love Page France, and Colour Revolt is
realllly cool. I\'m excited for this show. Also, By
the End of Tonight is playing, but they are from here,
so I\'m pretty sure they didn\'t play in Iowa. Yep
yep. Thanks for keeping in touch and letting me know
how great it was!
