Do you feel empty @ Christmas? Do you and Scrooge have a lot in common? Do you wonder why we celebrate, or what it's all about? Do you wonder why we sing "Silent Night", "O Little Town of Bethlehem", and even "Hark! The Herald, Angels Sing"? If you answered Yes to any of the above questions, then Read On! Long, long ago, in a town called Nazareth, A young girl named Mary was visited by an angel, who informed her that she was going to give birth to the Son of God. Obviously, Mary was surprised, and even more so, because MARY WAS A VIRGIN, and we all know that it takes a man and a woman to have a baby, but Mary was lacking the "man" factor of that equation, however, yet it was true. Mary was engaged to a man Named Joseph, who, naturally, assumed that she had committed adultery, and in that day and age, adulterers were stoned. He wanted to break off the engagement secretly, so that Mary wouldn't be killed, but the angel visited him in a dream, telling the whole story. he and Mary got married, but Mary remained a virgin until After the baby was born. There was a census taking place and everyone had to travel to the town which their ancestors came from, and for Joseph, who was from the line of David had to go to Bethlehem. so he and Mary went to Bethlehem, but there was no room an any of the inns. One kind innkeeper said that they could sleep in the stable out behind his inn when he saw that Mary was VERY pregnant. That night, Jesus, the Son of God, was born in a stable, wrapped in cloth, and he had a manger instead of a crib. Jesus grew up to have a stunning 3-year ministry, and he was crucified at age 33. to find out more about Jesus' ministry, read my blog, "The Real Thing", or send me a message or a comment. if you don't want a comment posted, just say so, and I'll honor that. SMILE!!! KKC
