The wind whips her hair, golden against the gray sky like the ocean white-capped and restless the world seems to shake and fall away The rain drops gently against her soft face tears curve hard as she fights the pain I would give all I had to save what’s left if only I knew the way. She’s trying so hard to hold to fearlessness when fear holds so tight through this sting but tonight the world seems to shake and fall away The tear that runs across her cheek replaces the stars as they hide behind this falling gray and, oh, how I wish I could take her in my arms but it just can't work that way - -Not this time- Because I seem to be seven thousand miles away, in the dark whispering for the heavens to save - - to hold her close and guard her heart as all her world falls away I’ve tried to find the answer to the question but I can’t seem to turn the page so I’ll scream down the heavens while she softly cries as we hold tight to these strands of grace It’s gray tonight, and heavier than it’s ever been before.
