It is important to have a good website in order to make people come back. Let's look at three of the most popular websites and why they are consistently ranked at the top and then we will see why they are the best. The top three are Facebook, Youtube and Yahoo. What makes these three sites the top 3 websites? With Facebook, it is their interaction. With Youtube it is their great content and with Yahoo it is their news, celebrity and sports updates. So when you create your own site make sure you incorporate these three principles: interactivity, content and updates.

"Nielsen Media Research (the company that measures what people watch on TV) predicts that in two years advertising dollars spent on the Internet will exceed advertising dollars spent on television. It is actively restructuring its company to measure the Internet.

When creating a blog you must know upfront that it will take you about an hour to setup when you know all the steps. I do them faster if I have the content and images that I want to include. The beauty of blogs is that you can update them online, as long as you have internet connection. No need for expensive web design software.

At the minimum any website must have information on products or services and show how it will be of benefit to the customers. Then it must have information on how to contact you by email, postal address, in person and telephone. Just have a simple format which is easy to read.

Above all else, understand and remember that your website is designed for visitors, not for you. It's your store, where they primarily come looking for information. Usually to solve a problem they have. Your overall website design will influence the user's initial perception of your relevance and importance to their quest and your website's content will, in turn be a significant persuader for them to explore deeper into your website.

The Relative: We all have one, the person n your family who claims to get this stuff. They've probably even offered to do your site for you. Every once-in-awhile these folks work out. But more often than not it is a big mistake. The relative will probably be doing it either for free or for less then what a check here professional would charge. This might be effective in terms of budget but you may sacrifice quality and effectiveness by working with a more amateur version of the freelancer. These folks also tend to extend deadlines and drag the project on for months simply because they lose motivation.

Then, use social media and local business networking events to put the word out there. You can have your very own consulting firm in a month or less if you're really motivated. This technique works for just about anything you can think of doing, so there is virtually no limit to the business you can start online with no investment.
