Having Collected Music since 1973, I have amassed a vast Music Collection consiting of over 10,000 LPs, and over 6000 Cds. Recently I have jumped on PV bandwagon, and Have found more than a few up and coming bands out there. This Day And Age Calls It A Day
Sadly Lead Singer Jeffrey Martin has announced that he is Leaving the Band This Day and Age...."this isn't over...it never was!"
OVER A 1000 Served and still counting...............
NO........Having Over a 1000 Favorite Bands isn't too many and here's why..........
ON PUREVOLUME:
There are over 174,088 bands with the word "A" in their band title.
There are over 41,803 bands with the word "the" in their band title.......that's almost 216,000 bands with those two words in their "names."
So do the math.......even at 2000 Favorite bands that's still less than 1% of all the bands out there with those two words in their band titles. So yeah...... liking only 1% of everything out there qualifies as favorite.
My personal qualifications:
I have an LP collection of over 10,000 records
I have a cd collection of over 6000 cds (I have actually lost count lately)
I listen to 10-12 Cds a day (I drive 8 hours a day)
I buy at least 50 Cds a month since July 2005
I spend way too much time on PureVolume at Night
And last but not least I have been around longer than most of you...........
Too much good music....too little time.......24/7 is not enough!
I have been amazed at how much good unsigned talent is out there.....purevolume is a great resource to find great music......by great bands......unfortunately there is just not enough time in the day to check everyone out......but I'm trying......and no..... I don't list everyone as my favorite....only about one tenth of what I check out do I actually list as favs.....because as you know there are a lot of "sucky" bands out there too.
Yeah.....I'm old Get Over It!
Good Music is Good music no matter what age you are. It just so happens that I"m into a lot of stuff teenagers like......my kids friends ask me for musical advice.........so if you want to hear some good tunes......just check out my faves.......and email me some of your faves in a similar vein.......I like alot of stuff......just not much screamo/hardcore stuff. Hell....what do you expect......I'm old school....I have 10.000 LPs and over 5000 Cds in my collection. So I do know good music when I hear it....and PureVloume Rocks!
