I wrote this a long time ago. It's called Tears and Sweat.

 

What would remain
Would everything melt away
With that out and over us
To lend a spectrum of emotional color to a mattress
Warmed by the beats of our frantic, fragile hearts
Painting gorgeous agony
Will the painter see what must be seen
Will he know what must be known
And paint what is and was

Tears
Sweat
…
Remember to breath

Is that how it will happen
Then will I die
Will it be as beautiful as it should be
Will it be far beyond hope
Will I feel like a child
Will I be passionate
Will I be too broken to function
Will I be satisfied
How beautiful will my tears be
When I kiss you for the last time
Will it all fall away
When it’s time for me to be done
Will I end
Will I be painted
Will you be painted
Will they see

Will we be perfect

Perfect warmth

A kiss to stop the heart

Perfect heat

Passion without distraction

Tears of ecstasy and rapture

Perfect Anguish

Pure emotion

Untainted

Flowing and shining into everything

And everywhere

Simple complexity

Will I hear the wind
Will you smell the same
Will it feel familiar
Will a gentle smile arrive at your lips
When I hold your body for the last time

Will the setting sun bleed upon the sky
As her tears stain the sheets
A pallet of crimson and orange
Buckets of pinks and purples
The canvas of our deaths
For all to see
As she sets will she set for me
Will violets pour slowly
And will her blues come quietly
As we hold each other in the failing light
Will it come to a violent and passionate end
Will we fade out together in an explosion of brilliant color

I ask myself these questions sometimes
