I'm feeling rather shitty and it's 2AM the day before school, so I'm sorry for the whining, brace yourselves.
I guess it's just getting to a point where I can let go. I don't really feel like it was a complete waste, it's just that after you spend all that time knowing someone and falling in love, knowing all those little things about them and their personality and all their hopes and dreams, there's just that fear of not knowing that anymore that makes you hesitate a little. You really don't want to invalidate or throw all of that time you spent away, and it makes going through that process with someone else again seem all the more daunting of a task. When you go through things with someone and sacrifice for them you expect (unwarrantedly?) it to just strengthen your bond, you know?
It's like Jason Lee says in Vanilla Sky - without the sour, the sweet would never be so good.
