BIO
Striving in Greater Hopes, also known as S.i.G.H., is an extremely talented band based in Long Island, New York who live and breathe music. S.i.G.H. creates music that has an eclectic blend of hard rock and pop to create a unique style and sound that immediately catches the listener's ear. The sound translates just as well in their always entertaining and energetic live shows.
For many years, the band had experienced numerous transitions, but now boasts of its perfect line up with Jeff (drums), Dan (guitar), JayR (bass guitar) and Cyrille (vocals). S.i.G.H. is currently working on a full length album that they hope to release this year and is kept busy by shows that they play in the Tri-State area.
They've played at various places and venues such as CBGB's, East Enders, Jordan Lounge, C-Note, Club Farenheit, Club LQ, Stony Brook's University Cafe, The Nutty Irishman, Adelphi University (opening for the national act NINA SKY), The Continental, etc. They have upcoming shows (list is ever growing) lined up at Stony Brook's University Cafe, Image Bar, The Nutty Irishman, Mr. Beery's, McCoys and is scheduled to appear on the public access cable show The Big Broadcast. They are also in the process of being put into rotation on Long Islands Radio-X (94.7FM 94.9FM & 104.5FM).
S.i.G.H. is incessantly building their following through the internet and by playing shows and showcasing their talents. Over 1,000 fans are currently signed up in their mailing list and this list is exponentially growing!

Between Sin and Solitude, the first release from hard rock new-comers Striving in Greater Hopes (S.i.G.H), is a crushingly heavy and emotional masterpiece. Carefully crafted to appeal to heavy and pop music lovers alike, S.i.G.H isnt afraid to revive what has unfortunately become an indistinguishable music scene. So, turn off your radios and throw away that outdated pop-punk CD, because after listening to this album, music will never be the same to you again.
From the beginning to the end of this record, it amazes me how S.i.G.H is able to perfectly fuse graceful vocals with addictive melodies. There is not one track on this album you will not tap your foot, nod your head or sing along to. The hooks and overall energy behind each song is unmatched by many of todays popular artists. Marrying flawless production with talented
musicians is the bands formula for perfection. Between Sin and Solitude is a thoughtful album in every sense of the word. Each track on the 11-song LP is sculpted around the vocals and each individual instrument. With over four months spent on the recording process alone, S.i.G.Hs intense dedication to making a great album is shown. Having influences ranging from In Flames to Alanis Morissette, the bands work doesnt fall short of original. S.i.G.H is not afraid to incorporate guitar
solos and Black Sabbath inspired riffs into a pop-rock package. Songs like Ignoraphobia and Un-Driven are poppy, catchy, and originally metal to the core. Cyrille, the lead female vocalist, strays from the rest of her female counterparts in todays pop
culture by adding her own soulful sound to the heavy pop-influenced rock music that accompanies her. Her voice (especially on the last track) is sure to send shivers down your spine.
Though the entire album is (to be totally honest) delicious from start to finish-here are some of my favorite tracks: Ignoraphobia, Undriven (both acoustic and electric), Take Me As I Am, Sacrifice, Its Alright, and S.i.G.Hs cover of You Oughta Know. Buy this album if you love hard rock music. Its thats simple-you wont be disappointed.
