drown

drowning forever in the depths of these ice cold waters
unsurfacing and underneath i can only watch
the vagueness of your image, and your faint whispers
contemplating on an ending of such

you have me wrapped around your finger
all i know is to let the world revolve around you
listening to our theme songs, watching our movies
passing up roses that have gone to wither and die

a good six months and we were lovers
but you broke up with me last september
and now i spend my rides home alone
while you hold hands with someone else

but i gotta hand it to you, i wouldn't be this strong
i wouldn't write this poem
i wouldn't have realized you're worth
but now it's over

still, i'm drowning and catching my breath
time after time, i still glance at your faint image
underneath the water, i can finally breathe
now i can swim with fishes and mermaids

i won't be alone forever, i won't stay up late anymore
i'm quitting listening to Sunday Drive by Early November
it's over, and all i can do is watch you
all i can do is let myself drown..
