Generally I listen to alternative music, but name any genre and I probably have at least one band in that genre that I like. As far as genres that aren't rock based, I'm open to them but I rarely find artist that I think are very good. There are definatly some good electronica bands, but they aren't that easy to find. There's some old school rap bands like runDMC that were good but let's face it the quality of rap music has declined, no one in country music plays songs that have anything important to say, and typical mainstream music is over dramatic, about nothing, and very easy to play. There is plenty of good music out there, just click my favorites link: it's a good start, but I have found that most talent in music is outside the mainstream, in bands like Circa Survive, Secret and Whisper, and Sound of Animals Fighting.
