The sound of a lighter goes off in the background and the smell of cigarette smoke fills the room. She was drawn to him immediately but she did not know how badly it would all turn out after all was said and done. Her heart would be broken by a man with a blue Mohawk and tattoos all over his body.
It was a cold rainy night in New York. The clock in the sleazy bar had just struck 2 a.m. There was a single girl at the corner of the bar crying with her face buried in the cheap alcohol. The bartender said to himself, How could a beautiful girl with long black hair and baby blue eyes be so sad? She heard the sound of the lighter go off and the smell of the smoke of the cigarette as it filled the bar. She walked up to a man with a blue Mohawk and tattoos all over his body. She said to him, Hey, how are you? My name is Amber. The man responded with a grunt and said, My name is Zach. She was immediately attracted to him. They sat in the bar for the rest of the night and talked. When they walked out of the sleazy bar they had no clue what time it was; the only clue was that the sun was coming up. They said their goodbyes and she was already madly in love with this man with a blue Mohawk and tattoos all over his body
As the day passed on Amber sat by the phone, waiting in her one room apartment for Zach to call. She waited and waited. Finally Zach called her and asked, Would you like to go out tonight, and instead of meeting in a bar we could go to Luigis in Time Square? Amber was overwhelmed with excitement and she could not believe her ears. Zach came by her apartment building and picked her up for their date. He did not own a car so their carriage was a yellow taxi cab with a Jesus action figure on the dashboard. Zach was very quiet and shy, as was Amber. Whenever they looked at each other they would smile, laugh and look away. They were already in love. They got over their jitters when the first dish of food came out. Once they started, they could not stop talking. The two of them talked about everything from when they graduate college to the people who they loath, even though neither of them had any clue who the other person was. They were definitely in love.
A year has passed since that night in New York. They are engaged and Zach, the man with a blue Mohawk and tattoos, has turned into a man with brown hair and in a buzz cut. The sad girl who was drowning in cheap alcohol is happy and still just as pretty as ever. They are both working full time. Amber is a teacher and Zach, unbelievably, is a now a lawyer.
It is the day of their wedding. Everything is perfect; the sky is blue with not a cloud in the sky and the roses are as red as can be. Amber looks as beautiful as ever and the groom is nowhere to be found. The wedding is delayed for an hour while they try to find Zach. Finally, after an hour passes, the best man comes out with a piece of paper in his hand. On it is written:
I am sorry Amber I can not marry you because I have cheated on you countless times. I am truly sorry.
Love you always,
Zach
She bursts into tears at the altar, overcome with grief and heartbreak. She never thought that Zach could do this to her. She loved him and thought that he loved her too. She falls to her knees and cries while her bridesmaids try to comfort her to no avail. She is too far gone.
The sound of a lighter goes off in the background of a sleazy bar. A pretty girl with black hair and baby blue eyes looks up, remembering that the last time she heard that noise in a bar it was her love. She turns towards the sound, wondering if fate is once again knocking at her doorstep or playing a cruel joke on her. Hi, a familiar voice says.
