I Must Be Dreaming

The silence screams in my face

Stillness creeps an ugly pace

My eyes search for you when open

And when closed are steadily hopin'

I seek you out in the light

But run from the thought at night

This saddening loss is a gain?

Must force aside the searing pain

Our days have passed increased to years

Love is seeped with flowing tears

The longest span has come to end

My heart my love now must mend

Even when you're not there

I'm still trapped; the spider's lair

Entangled in the very thought

My heart's a spade that must be taught

Freedom from capture my heart's in need

My love's an oak; a dug-in seed

I scream aloud to end this dream

But wide awake is where I seem
