A.Refuge update.
So, people can sign up now at my magazine site http://www.arefuge.com. Feel free to do so. If you notice any errors, let me know and I'll get them sorted out. Be sure to put up some artworks in your "Works" section if you have created anything. You can place written work up as a .PDF file. We'll allow videos and music soon enough too. Articles are being finished up and will go up shortly.
Here's the super exciting part of the blog:I picked this up from 311's manager's office today and I am so excited about it.
It's the first item I've got signed so far to give away in a contest on aRefuge.com.It's pretty much the exact model Pnut plays in the band. I wanted to get as close to what he plays as possible to give it more meaning to the one that wins it. I dont' want to be like other companies that give away some cheesey ass signed item just cause it is signed and will get some attention. I wanted to give away something that the band would actually use, so the person the gets it knows it has real value and hopefully inspire them to not just hang it up but play it too.That the point of A.Refuge. To inspire and let you know some people still care about quality and the meaning in their actions.We'll be getting an American Series Telecaster signed by Lost Prophets as well. I'm coordinating that tomorrow soon as I wake up.This is so extra exciting because I've looked up to 311 since I was 16 and now they've taken notice of this project I've put my heart into for the last three years and they think it is pretty cool. They are impressed I got the bass I did for them to sign. And we've done an interview with Nick and an interview with Pnut so far for their feature article that we'll publish on August 1st.Their manager wants us to do more with the band even. I think this is so amazing.It's validation that A.Refuge matters and is worth being a part of. It means that despite how long it has taken to get here, and regardless of the number of delays, this is worth waiting for.I feel pretty damn good right now.Here's the cute part of the blog: I just need my girlfriend Jessica to come back from Hawaii to help slow my thoughts down a bit. I've been going a little retarded and keep forgetting things and getting overwhelmed with all these tasks. She balances me out so well. She's all organized and takes charge when I'm too lazy to do so. She comes from the other side of things just enough while totally accounting for the creative and idealistic notions I have to come to a resolution for any problem. Ah, I miss you Jessica. I love you. <3
