I'm in the band Stranger At The Gate, and eventually along the line I hope to get my own band going, with metal being the predominant genre. But that's getting way way ahead of myself. I support anyone who goes and does thinking outside the box, and refuses to believe everything that the government and the schools tell you.
I started my music life off with a base guitar about maybe... a little over three years ago. Learning from an awsome instructor John Sinclair out of Guitar Works, I learned the technique quite fast and am still continuing to grow in that area. I am able to play such things as Los Fer Words and Rime Of The Ancient Mariner by Iron Maiden, Blood Brothers by Papa Roach, etc.
Recently I've come to the conclusion that if I want to come out with my own band, that I'm going to have to broaden my horizons and start to learn Guitar and if I'm fortunate enough, Drums too. The reasoning in this is, this way if I want a guitarist in my future band to play a certain way, I can give him at least an idea of what I want him to do. Same with the drums.
Should I be fortunate enough, I can get my band off and started, and start playing awesome genre's such as Metal, Punk, Alternative and maybe even throw in some funk. But that's getting ahead of myself, I need some members first, so If you happen to live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and play Guitar or Drums, look me up!
