Hello,
I am person who happens to think that music is underappreciated.
The reason I joined here was to support bands that don't get noticed but in reality are much better than the bands that get all the attention.
So please listen to some of my favorites that you have not heard yet!
It would make me happy if you did and trust me....you'll like them!'
The bands I chose are just plain good songwriters and musicians.
So please listen...and learn, that just because you haven't heard of them doesn't mean they don't rock this world!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello people of the Purevolume stratosphere.... This little blog post is about the magic of music. Have you ever heard a song and all of the sudden you are weeping because it reminds you of a lost friend? On the flip side have you heard a tune and you can't stand to listen to it because it brings you back to a time when life was chaos? We all have.....Throughout my life so far, I have noticed that music is a powerful, emotion provoking form of art. Music is much more than something to listen to. It can make you laugh, bring you to tears, and even change your heart. The complex and amazing way musicians sew notes and words together into a song is pure magic. Musicians are magicians. No smoke or mirrors required; just the talent to write what you feel into song. Have you ever thought about why some music makes you feel a certain way? The answer to that question is neither philosophic or intellectual. Music is magic. Pure and simple. The magic of music is a gift I hope we all appreciate. I can't even imagine a world without it....can you?
I don't understand comedy these days...Today something funny seems to be dirty jokes, directed at poloticians or celebrities....
Now look at comedy back when a joke was something completely made up.
Read this quote from a comedic movie made in the thirties....
"Well, art is art, isn't it? Still, on the other hand, water is water. And east is east and west is west, and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce, they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now, uh... Now you tell me what you know. "
Why are you laughing? No crudeness, nobody is being hurt, yet you are laughing!
Take this next quote...
Capt. Spaulding: I used to know a fellow who looked exactly like you by the name of Emanuel Ravelli. Are you his brother?
Ravelli: I am Emanuel Ravelli.
Capt. Spaulding: You're Emanuel Ravelli?
Ravelli: I am Emanuel Ravelli.
Capt. Spaulding: Well, no wonder you look like him. But I still insist there is a resemblance.
Ravelli: Heh, heh, he thinks I look alike.
Capt. Spaulding: Well, if you do, it's a tough break for both of you.
It is so cleverly thought out...It proves my point exactly.
There seems to be no thought in comedy anymore, comedy today is good only for a short laugh; But the comedy of yesterday will live on forever.......
