What is blue? Blue is the sky with patches of white It’s the eyes that can get you lost Or the ocean that freezes with frost Blue is topaz that you will find forever It’s the color of the feather that the bird lost in the tree Or the color of the flowers that you gave to me Blue is the fish in the water so fast It’s the bugs buzzing in the air that won’t last Blue is the bruises that you got on your arm Or sadness that fills the animals that are held on the farm   What is green? Green is life and growth It fills eyes when your mind loses interest It’s the greed and jealousy that gets you lost w/o hope It gives you life then takes it away Green is bananas not ready for the world Asparagus with a sickening scent It keeps you hopeful beyond your heart’s content Green is the health that comes and goes It’s the crisp apple that are said to keep it here Or the sickness that’s always there
