Hey, my name is Ty Clock. I'm 18 and I'm a Christian Rock/Acoustic songwriter from the Portland, Oregon area. I love my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and I honestly don't know where I would be without Him. My music is dedicated to that man.

It's a question we've all asked ourselves: "Why would I do the right thing in x situation?" Has it ever seemed to you like no matter how much you fight the good fight, God doesn't seem to care or reward your actions?
Sometimes it's so easy to feel abandoned, to feel frustrated because when you do the right thing it doesn't seem to help your situation. I just want to encourage you right now to keep making the right decisions, to keep standing up to evil and being strong for the Lord. Yes, it is a struggle. Yes, it will be hard and sometimes it will be painful, but God never promised that it would be easy... He simply promised that it would be worth it . Take a look at Galatians 6:9 (one of my all time favorite verses):
Galatians 6:9 - "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
One of the great things to notice about this is that it doesn't say "for when we go to heaven we will reap a harvest if we do not give up".. It says "at the proper time". And when could that be? It could be today, it could be tomorrow... it could be a year from now, but God does promise that you will reap a harvest.
1 Peter 1:6-7 - "In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faithof greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by firemay be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed."
--------------
The Lord is there, and He does see the good that you do. Imagine watching one of your own children in a situation, hoping that he or she will make the right decision. How proud and joyful would you be when they choose the right thing, even when the other alternative seems easier and more pleasurable? It is the same way with the Lord.
Today I challenge you to offer up your obedience to God as a gift from a child to its father. Whether it's a struggle in the area of self-hatred, lying, lying, sexual sin, whatever, we all have our struggles... give it to Him. Give it to Him today. Keep fighting the good fight, don't ever give up, because it IS worth it.
In Christ,
Ty

Jeremiah 29:11 - "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'"
The fact of the matter is, you have an Adversary that hates you. He wants your soul in Hell and he wants to do as much damage to you, your loved ones, and everyone you care about as possible. One of the prime ways that he does this is by kicking your legs out from under you and kicking you while you're down. The Bible has some pretty strong words on Satan. Here's some of what it has to say:
----------
1 Peter 5:8: "Be self-controlled and alert . Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."
John 8:44: "You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies."
---------
So the fact is that you have someone who is willing to kill, steal, and destroy anything to torment you and ruin your life... so why do we give in? Why do we take the bait that Satan lays out for us? Why do we fall into these ruts of sin that pull us deeper and deeper into guilt and anguish, all for something that will never satisfy and only cause pain? There are many reasons and the reasons aren't so important as long as we do one thing
RESIST!
-------
James 4:7-8: "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded."
Romans 12:21 "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."
1 Corinthians 10:13 - No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
-------
Brothers! Sisters! Stand up and fight! We are called to be in the world, but not of it, let's start acting like it! How many times must we fail, must we give in to temptation and pound Jesus' nails deeper before we learn what we are doing to our Lord, ourselves, our brothers and sisters, and the eternal destinations of the lost? RESIST the devil. Rebuke him and turn your thoughts away from evil. We are called to do it and we shouldn't even have to be. What could we possibly hold from Jesus, the redeemer of our souls?
Christians brothers and sisters don't give up the fight. Resist temptation, do not give in to the lie that disobedience to God will fulfill you it won't. Stay with Him, walk with the Lord forever, and be an encouragement to fellow believers fighting the good fight alongside you.

Galatians 6:9 "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
Where are you in your relationship with God right now?
Remember when you first became a Christian? The excitement, the battle to do good that you fought with such fervor, and the times that you thanked God for all of the amazing things that He'd done for you and how you could never thank Him enough?
Feel like those times are gone? Is the one word that you would use to describe your spiritual relationship with him "stale"? These can be some of the most frustrating times in any Christian's walk, because it can so often feel like no progress is being made, that you are not being effective in being a light to the world, and it can be tough.
So often as Christians we get stuck wading through the mire of sin, doubt, and repetition, and when we reach to grab the hand of the father it can seem like no one is there to draw us near, which can numb us even more.
Many battle these times by dedicating themselves to constant prayer, or to studying the Word, while others try to piece together strategies for resisting the temptation that has begun to bring them down on a regular basis. These are all great things to do, but many times these things can become distractions to what God really wants our hearts. We can worship God in the most beautiful tongues and thank Him in the most elaborate ways, but if we don't give Him our hearts, we haven't truly given Him what He must have to draw nearer to us. Here is a reminder of what God really wants:
----
Isaiah 29:13 (NIV): The Lord says: "These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men."
----
God doesn't just want our actions; He wants our hearts, our obedience, and our faith, which is so often hard to give to God. Proverbs 23:26 says: "My son, give me your heart and let your eyes keep to my ways," Give God your heart, draw near to Him, and He will draw near to you.
Others when they feel stale give in and succumb to the sin. It can be so hard to live for God when you feel stale, when you feel like He isn't there. But just remember, He is there, and that all the things that you are going through are meant for your good, and that God wants to give you an amazing future (Jeremiah 29:11). Many times when we feel far away it could be God wanting us to draw nearer to Him.
Honestly, I don't feel that I can explain what I'm trying to say I know that it can be discouraging to feel stale and I want to encourage you to not give up even when you feel like you're at the point of no improvement or that God is far away. Don't give up, keep fighting for the God who was willing to die in your place.
