Reviews on Puerto Rico summer vacation...

If you all didn't know, I recently got back from a one week stay in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico was the most awesome vacation I had ever been on in my life! To get there... we had to drive to Philidelphia, stay there for a night, and fly the next morning! Our hotels shuttle took us to the airport at about 4:30 in the morning! At that time, I had never flown on a plane in my entire life. But, the cool thing about Puerto Rico is, we didn't have to have a passport because it's a U.S. territory. Our first flight started at 6:45 in the morning as we left for Charlotte, North Carolina. As we arrived in Charlotte, we met with my brother's (Brooks) girlfriend. Her name is Lindsey. At about 8:00 AM we left Charlotte, and headed for San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico. When I first got on the plane I looked behind me and was talking to my brother and his girlfriend. My brother said "turn around." in a really rude voice. I didn't turn around. So my brother jabbed his finger right in my eye. Man that hurt! My mom had to wipe the tear from my eye. My eye stang for about 4 hours... Within 5 and a half hours we were in Puerto Rico. The city of San Juan was beautiful. The car rental company "HERTS" came and picked up our family and brought us to their rental car lot. We chose a silver toyota mini van and drove to a condo we rented at the Pena Mar Ocean Club in the beautiful city of Fajardo. Considering we had 6 people altogether, we had to choose a bplace with room. When we got to the condo, I realized how beautiful the Carribean is. Our living room had an LCD flat screen television with dish network and wi-fi all over the place! I had to share a bedroom with Brooks and Lindsey. Lindsey slept on a single bed, Brooks slept on the bottom bunk of the bunk bed, and I slept on the top. The room's air was cool because the air outside of the building was humid. We had a balcony with a terrific view of the carribean water. The water was crystal clear blue. I couldn't wait to swim in it. That evening we went and ate terrific food at Los Crobas, and explored, and walked around afterwards. Everyone who was local was so friendly. The next day we drove to Muanabo and explored the Punta Tuna Light house. The place was built for buisness only, but the people were so nice and let us come in the gates to explore. Afterwards, we went to a black sanded beach. Only the front of the sand was black. And it was just a dark tone to it. On the beach I found a coconut and kept playing with it. My mom took some pictures of me playing with them as well! Two local guys came on the beach and talked to us about swimming on the beach. The man told us it's not safe because a few days beforehand a young adult was swimming on the beach, and the tide was so rough that it sucked him in deeper and deeper into the water till he had drowned and died. A few minutes afterwards, it started pouring down raining and storming! So we hurried into the car and drove back to the condo. For lunch we stopped at a Puerto Rican resteraunt called the Rincon Familiar. The waitress did not speak english. But luckily, my dad had studied some spanish before he came. So he was able to communicate with the waitress... The Puerto Rican food was awesome. The next day we hiked in the rainforest in the mountain of El Yunque. We hiked the Big Tree Trail to lamina falls. Lamina falls was a beautifal water fall The water was cold and the rocks were slippery, but that had no impact on how beautiful the waterfall was. I found a small orange rock and started to draw on a big rock. I wrote my name at least 10 times. We hiked back up the trail and towards the beggining of the path. On our way to the condo, we stopped at a place called La Poza and had lunch. After the condo we went to the beach called Luquillo Beach! The water was so clear and made me feel like never going back to swim at the Atlantic ocean ever again. There, I tasted the world's best ice cream!!!! The flavor was called passion fruit... The last biggest event of the vacation was on day 5... That day we rode a boat over to the island of Vieques. I actually learned that Vieques is the south end of the Bermuta Triangle! Well guess what, I didn't dissapear!!!! So anyway, a shuttle took us from the pier to a resteraunt to eat. Then a bus took us to a bio bay. The bio bay has been voted to be one of the world's greatest natural wonders!... When something touches the water, the water glows at the spot where ever it gets touched at. They let us swim in the water for about 15 minutes. Everyone was glowing like angels. Once we got out of the water, we were sparkling! If you'd smack your legs or other body places, you would start glowing there. As we were on the tour we saw the beautifal stars. And even some planets! The tour guide had a cool laser pointer that he shined at some of the galaxies, stars, and planets!... On day 8, were dissapointed to leave... We got back to our house at about 2:00 AM, after we flew from San Juan, to Charlotte, to Philidelphia, and drove all the way home.
