Another Disappointment
All my plans on the 14th flushed down the toilet, but I still managed to see Ten 13 Concept. And oh boy, that sure did not make up my day.
I'm so fucking pissed! That was one of the worst shows I have ever been to. Note to self: never, EVER attempt to go to one of the new "pop-punk/emotronic" shows. In the end they just bring me down and depressed.
And what to speak of the crowd. I am SICK and TIRED of these "prep" chicks who think they're so cool to go into a bar and dress like a hoe. Whenever they show up, it's like a brick stone army just staring at the music like, "What the fuck are they doing?" If they're not going to enjoy the show, then what the hell? Why did they come? Doesn't listening to T13Cs MySpace on their lazy asses suffice? Don't even get me started on their dirty dancing. If they're going to be like that, then hell, go to the fucking club down the street.
That didn't work out
The Ataris show was disappointing. I asked Kris about Teenage Riot, but just as I thought, he said no. Because the band had a new line-up, they didn't know how to play it, and besides, it was one of his least favorite songs. Gee, thanks.
I didn't go to Murphy's Law. Basically because everyone who normally would take me was busy. Mom never drives me there, because she doesn't support it. But I heard it was cancelled anyway. So that makes me a bit more happier.
After the Ataris, Joe from Ten 13 Concept stood outside passing out flyers and CDs, so now I found out what date they're playing. July 14. So yeah, I'm going.
I HATE POP PUNK
Pop Punk hit mainstream super bad in, what, 2005? Green day, Fallout Boy, Blink 182.. stuff like that. It was really popular.
Now it's just a drag. I despise it so much. It's revolting to look at girls my age, just swarming over how hot Pete Wentz is, or how they think they are so punk. No, you're not. You're a disgrace. I WANT TO PUNCH THESE GIRLS IN THE FACE. I want them to stop trying to hang out with me simply because they think i'm into punk, just so they can brag to people about how punk they are. They're using me. They're trying to impress me.
What also really pisses me off is the number of bands that sound exactly the same. Fallout Boy sounds exactly the same as Panic! at the Disco. Cute is What We Aim for sounds exactly like The Audition. I mean, I don't even mind these bands. But the fact that the all sound the same, look the same, and give the same stage presence disgusts me. They aren't exciting.
And of course these two added together(the poser girls and numerous same-sounding bands) is what MTV is made of today. I shutter to think..
My computer is back!
Yes! And all my files are saved! YES!!!
I'm going to Seattle in a month. Which I'm really happy about. Because I get to hang out with Subi. And the firehouse. And my dad. And Redmond. And all my old friends and neighborhoods. Not to mention, now that i'm all into skateboarding, I get to go to their sweetawesome skateparks. And I'll probably be the only girl there(once again).
I'm looking forward to a couple of shows before I go though. There's the Ataris on the 24th, Murphy's Law on the 28th and Ten 13 Concept on July.. I forget. But those are going to be fun. The only thing is now I have a problem with the Ataris. Their old stuff is what I love, their new stuff sounds like shit, and is how they got popular in the mainsteam. Which sucks. Because that is not how I first encountered the Ataris. My favorite song of their's is Teenage Riot from their third album. I know it inside and out. It's a really good song but I doubt they'll play it. Unless... unless I yell my ass off at them at the front. Yeah.. maybe i'll do that.
