"Because No One Came"
No One Knows Exactly What Happened
No One Knows Why This Had To Happen At All
All We Know Is A Younger Man
About Six Feet Tall
Took His Last Breath
His Last Gasp Of Air, It Was His Last Chance
Before He Was Ready For His Final Rest
Maybe He Meant To Take That Fall
Into His Watery Grave
Because He Felt No One Would Care
If He Lived At All
Or Maybe It Was An Accident
A Fatal Error
But No Body Was There To Keep Him Safe
Or To Give 911 A Simple Call
No One Knows Who This Man Was
No One Knows What Life This Man Lead
It's A Shame That This Man Entered Death
Without A Name
And All We Know Is This Man Is Dead
Because No One Came
(This Poem Is About A Man They Found May 23rd In The Mississippi River. "Drowning victim's identity is a mystery" was the name of the article my poem is based on. I had to write a poem about something in the news for my class. an when i read this story I felt like I should write my poem about him.)
