I am burning with a need, a desire to know Something More Than Myself. I've seen a mankind that desperately needs fixing and I would like nothing more than to help fix it.

One of my many passions is creating. If I hear a good song, I want to write a good song. If I see good art, I want to make good art. If I read a good book, I want to write a good book.

I love my friends and family so much-- they make my life so much more possible.

I'm a pop rock/punk rock fanatic and, to me, the most important thing in any song is good, soulful, heart-felt lyrics, lyrics with a heart beat. My favorite band (though this changes like the seasons) is Switchfoot.

My favorite movies are comedies, musicals, Disney movies, and Burton films. I love Hairspray and RENT and Sleepy Hollow and Finding Nemo.

I am a computer nerd. I am an close to an expert at the entire Microsoft Office Suite. I know how to use Photoshop CS2 fairly well and I'm currently learning Illustrator CS2. I know basics in CSS and HTML and I would love to learn Flash.

Current Projects: Writing my novel The Vampiracy, working on my personal website, and creating the website for "The Underground".

"The opposite of war isn't peace... it's creation!"-- Mark Cohen (Anthony Rapp) RENT

"I must find a truth that is true for me... the idea for which I can live or die." --
Soren Kierkegaard

"If others go to hell, then I will go too. But I do not believe that; on the contrary I believe that all will be saved, myself with them - something which arouses my deepest amazement." --
Soren Kierkegaard

"Do I not destroy my enemies when I make friends of them?" --
Abraham Lincoln

"I'd rather learn from one bird how to sing than teach ten thousand stars how not to dance." --

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." --
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. (Colossians 1:17)

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. (I Corinthians 13)

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. (I John 4:18)

My Life is Getting Hectic

So on Saturday I went to this concert at a church. It was Calls From Home, who actually has a purevolume. And that was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo awesome. It was my very first concert and I was up in the front (it was a small party, so basically everyone was up in the front) and the guy screamed in my face and I screamed back and he crowd surfed and he jumped into the crowd while he sang and jumped and headbanged and screamed and I loved it so much....

Tuesday was the performance of the play I've been working on. Which was okay if you were the audience and knew nothing of the script or how things were supposed to go. But if you did know, the whole thing was extremely screwed up. But we got an applause anyway. Of course, I suppose they might have been applauding because it was finally over. There were missed lines, quiet people (including myself), wrong songs. There was a dance scene and somebody forgot to bring the dance music so they put in Dance, Dance instead and that's what we did. It was insane. Then the director played the wrong song and stopped about halfway through it when she realized. And Autumn, one of the actresses came out and said, "Does everyone know do-re-mi??" and we sang that.

Yesterday I got my senior pictures and those turned out really good, I'll have to post some on my myspace and my xanga. We also had a cast party yesterday.

Today I'm going on this senior play day and we're supposed to have water guns and stuff. And there will be sand volleyball. It sounds pretty cool I guess.

Tomorrow I'm going to six flags and we're going to ride Mr. Freeze and the Superman and the Batman and the Texas Giant, and a kazillion other rides that are flippin' awesome. Oh and the Runaway Mountain.

Then we're going to have a field day with the little kids on the 18th and on the 19th is the awards assembly. And on the 20th is prom and the 21st is my graduation party. And on the 23rd I'm having a party at Cheddars with PALs. And on the 26th I graduate. :-(.......................... that makes me sad.

I have to give a speech on graduation. Because I'm valedictorian.......................................................

Yep. It'll be fun. And sad. And hectic.

I went to GLOBE scholars yesterday. Which isn't that big of a deal because almost every senior around here gets in it. But that's not the point. The point is that a long time ago at Doris McQueen (Grades K-2) I had this friend. And everyone said that we were in love and that I had his cooties... yeah. But I saw him yesterday and I was going to say something to him, but I'm shy and by the time I had gotten the courage to, he had found his friends from LHS and I thought that would be awkward.

So I didn't get to talk to him and it made me sad. Because now I wonder if he would have remembered me.

My Weekend Was Amazing!

We left at about 2:40 on Friday and got to the hotel around 6:00. Then we went to the MAVS GAME! And that was amazing, even though I don't really like sports. Sports games are always better when you're there.

We came back to the hotel and took showers, some girls got in the hot tub and my sister and I watched Friends and Will & Grace. Lights out at 12:30.

Then we woke up at 6:00 and got ready, ate some breakfast and headed off to South Lake Carroll High School. Our GT teams were the only high schools in the events we competed in. There were only two schools there. So needless to say, both teams won first out of one teams. haha.

After that we went to eat at the Magic Time Machine, which if you've never been to one of those, you have to go sometime. Waldo from Where's Waldo was our waiter and he was cute. And funny. That place was awesome. Did I mention that Lauren, Lacy, and Mrs. Humphreys met COLLIN FARREL?????? They were all flippin out, it was hilarious and the guys were just like... "Yeah, whatever..."

Then we drove home and the whole way the entire SUV was jamming to Seether, Nickelback, Ozzy, Aerosmith, Three Days Grace and whole lot of other bands. That was flippin' awesome. And David who was sitting next to me was really getting in to it and banging his head.

Then when I got home I got my graduation present which was a CELL PHONE!

It's just a Tracphone, but I'm so excited and I love it so much. I had actually been talking that night about how I didn't have a cell phone of my own and that was just too cool.

So.

That's about it.

The Chronicles of the City Dionysia

Chronicles of the City Dionysia

The Suicide of Atticus

Play one, Act 1, Scene 1

NYX DOMINIUM................................... King of the City Dionysia

ATTICUS................................... Judge and Master Representative of the People

THE CHORUS/CITIZENS................................... People of the City Dionysia

CITIZEN 1................................... Atticus's Attendant

CITIZEN 2/CHORAL LEADER................................... New Master Representative and Judge

[AT RISE: An altar with a throne in the middle; Nyx Dominium stands in front of the throne and Atticus in front of him. Citizens stand around them, watching.]

Atticus: [Center stage, holding crown; Atticus wears the coat of an official of some kind]

People of the City Dionysia: As your Master Representative, and in a consensus with your hearts,
I present this crown to our noble leader.

[Turns and hands the crown out to Nyx with a slight bow]

Nyx: [Grabs it harshly and pushes Atticus off the altar where he is caught by a few citizens]

By the power and declaration of Divine Right, I, Nyx Dominium, proclaim myself King of the City Dionysia and take my proper place on the sacred throne of Babylon.

[Sits on throne and lights darken on him until he is gone]

Atticus: [Stands on his feet and retakes center stage, singing]

His reign of death came down on us Like a rain of forgotten souls Hearts turned to ashes; We are the City of Fools!
Our hearts are noting but ashes (Citizens: ASHES)
And we are falling down.
Parading around town in darkness Like a city full of asses (Citizens: ASSES)
Shattered lives forsaken Nothing here is left in peace-
It's all left in pieces! (Citizens: PIECES!)

Citizen 1: [Music quiets, not singing-- to Atticus]

But, Atticus, if you didn't want this, why do you allow it? You alone had the power to stop it.

Atticus: No one but God had that power, not even me. I had no choice: my tiny son's life was at stake. I couldn't sacrifice him. And now this suffering is on my head.

Citizen 1: [Walks to center and Atticus lends him the spotlight; sings:]

We are falling down We are falling down We are falling down Tears of God on a sinful town Flood this land; we want to drown.
Rain falls down on a field of pain-
Battlefield of the Living-Slain.
We can't drown, we can't drown, we can't drown.

Atticus: [Commanding the spotlight and retaking center stage]

By order of the King Bastard himself:

[Sings, mockingly]

"Honor me, and if you disagree Your execution is at three-
Now bow down on your knees!"

Citizen 2: All of you!

Atticus: [singing]

Can you really call this free?

[Citizens 1 and 2 join him at center stage, standing at his left and right.]

Citizens: [All singing]

Our souls are lost in this tyranny.

Atticus: [Hands his coat to Citizen 2]

No one, if they could would ever save me!

Citizens: Forgiveness is forsaken And love is over-rated.

Atticus: [kneels]

I'd rather burn in hell For all the sins I've committed!

Citizens: Than be lost in this tyranny...

Atticus: [Draws dagger, stabs himself and falls]

Citizen 1: Atticus!

[Kneels over him as music fades away]

Citizen 2: [Puts on Atticus's coat and kneels at his side]

What now?

Citizen 1: He passed his power to you... do you accept it?

Citizen 2: Yes.

Citizen 1: Then I will take my place as his attendant in death.

[Takes the dagger]

Forgive us for our cowardice and remember the gentle honor of my lord Atticus.

[To Atticus]

I'll be with you soon.

[Kills himself]

Citizen 2: [To others]

Bury them on the hill.

Citizens: [Five grab one body and five grab the other; humming while they carry the two off right stage]

Citizen 2: [Bows his head as he is left alone on stage; lights dim and all is black]

[End Scene]
