Watashi Wa comes out tomorrow
I'm really pretty psyched about Watashi Wa's new cd, in stores Tuesday the 24th of January. Thanks to Purevolume, I've heard a few new songs off of the album, and it sounds very similar to their previous work. I'm not usually satisfied with typical emo music, but Mae's newer album is one of my all-time favorite albums in any genre, so I'm obviously warming to the idea. Hopefully WW will play a more straight-ahead rock sound as opposed to a really poppy softer side. That's how I really feel about Mae's second album, and while some might say that approach removes some of the individuality of the band by moving it more towards the mainstream and out of a genre, I look at aspect's such as the voice and lyrical maturity of the band and say that both Mae and WW don't need to be defined as emo to be cool and original.
Christian hip-hop
First off, I wanna say I love 4th Avenue Jones. If you like music and rock and hip-hop, you should check these dudes out. Very accessible for ppl like me that feel a bit ambivalent about hip-hop in general but like to experience new music. Another band that I think is really fun is Grits. They're typical rappers but still quite cool. Also John Reuben, whom I like b/c he is able to make fun of himslef, which is usually not an easy thing for hip-hop dudes to do. They're so serious and act like the world revolves around them. Not about having fun at all. It's all about the bling... Lol well that's what it usually seems like from my perspective.... And that's what having a brand new blog is all about, isn't it?!?!?!?!
Kids in the Way concert next Friday, need to find someone to go with, if I can afford it...
Also Plumb's cd, Watashi Wa's cd, and POD's cd all coming out soon. I'm psyched. But broke. I'm gonna go write and send my resume....
