my feet smell
this was a relic of a past me. it's funny to see how i was, but i am a new me, better than ever. living in lawrence, doing my best to be alive and make the most of everything. come share the love, i'm about as friendly and open a person as you'll probably ever meet. i might just be human too. breathing new life back into this, because you kids are so much fun.
ROAD TRIP
tomorrow morning, tuesday the 15th of august, me and the lovely izzy will be leaving the midwest on a grand journy to the west coast.
i will be on the road, camping and driving and exploring from lincoln to olympia washington, stopping there to explore my possible future residence, then down the coast to los angeles to deposit izzy at occidental college where she will be spending her college experience.
i'll be driving myself back home to kansas near the end of august, to do who knows the hell what.
meaning i will not be around for awhile.
and to everyone else starting college this year, especially my close classmates, good luck and don't take yourself seriously.
you live once friends.

If the rain gathered into one big crowd around me, I'd drown in a cloud
I stepped onto the front porch and stood still at the edge of the overhang. I haven't enjoyed the rain for too long. There were memories on my mind. The storm took a breath and gained momentum, right as I had settled in place, as if starting up a song, just for me.
I've always felt older than I am, and now, I just feel old. Things do move by too fast, when looking at them now. Words flooded out of me, but my spring has run dry. Or is it a tree falling in the forest?
We adapt to our circumstances. I feel love, but sitting in bed, I find not just a lack of words streaming out of my mouth, but no roots even forming. The water was shut off, so the pipes rusted. The dog was not fed, so it died.
No direction can be seen in my life because I can no longer comprehend more than the moment. My past self said I spent too much time in the past, so now I see nothing but now, and my future self is having a hard time seeing any future at all.
I need to feel something familiar to grow old quickly. Slap me in the face and show me it is time to move on. I need a bike ride through the midnight rain. I need a stolen bottle of whiskey and a power out snow storm. I need a breather.

I went to the midnight showing of pirates of the caribbean, with my sweet pirate jacket on.
freaking catholic school kids sat in groups near us and this annoying girl wouldn't be quiet until i cut out her trachea.
great movie, but if anything, it needs to win the awards for "Biggest Cliffhanger Ending" and "Most Obviously Set Up For A Sequel"
I've been a bad, non obedient child, and i hope I don't get fired or I will have to find another job until mid august.
then the open road will be calling me to the coast.
for my funeral, i want to be sent out on a boat with all my stuff and set on fire like a freaking viking warrior or something like that. real regal and classy.
