What are you waiting for? Life's right outside your window. Go look. It's the stars, the trees, the beaches, the sky. I'm sitting here, pen to paper, fingers to keys, hoping that what I say may change your life. But who am I to say something like that? I am a daydreamer. I am a girlfriend. I am an acquaintance. I am an old friend. I am a cousin. I am a photographer. I am a lover. I am a list maker. I am who you judge me to be. For every 8 smokers who die from tobacco, 1 nonsmoker dies from secondhand smoke. In this life, I've learned that there is nothing you can do to prevent heartbreak. That word, heartbreak, was italicized in sadness and underlined in pain. Have you ever stood on top of a building and looked out over the city? That's the only place in the world I feel most alive, because all it takes is two little steps and you're gone. So go ahead, JUMP. No one's stopping you. About 30,000 people die by suicide every year.
Why am I here? What is my purpose? Where does the hour go in daylight savings? Why don't penguins have knees? Why does the sky never seem grey when you're happy? Why is it best to kiss in the rain? Why does the moon follow me home? How could I get a cold just by taking a bath? Why is the alphabet in that order? Where does the moon go? Why does the sun set? Why are stars so small? Why is the world not getting smaller, but that there is less in it? We NEED to save this world. 37 million Americans live in poverty. You're not alone on this planet. Go out and actually DO something. Make a difference. One click can make a difference. Now, that's a start. Come on, we all need a little change. Some times it's good to make someone else smile. There's this thing called friendship.
You must pick and choose carefully, or else there will be no more angels in Heaven. "Death needs time for what it kills to grow in." Can you feel it? It's in the air. Its presence is everywhere. It's called love. It's painted in your walls, weaved into your scarves, boiled into your cups of coffee, noted in your music. It's even on your skin. Can you feel it now? "So let my lack of a voice be heard." Go love more, see more, breathe more. Just BE more. Hurry, go explore the world while you still have time. You waste away on coffee and cigarettes while the earth screams for your attention.
