The Pheromones were a moderately famous band back just a few years ago... but if you haven't heard about them, that's cool. Why? Because this post has absolutely nothing to do with them... lol. The Pheromones I am talking about are the things that humans produce naturally, in their sweat (or more technically, ectohormones).
So what are pheromones? Pheromones are naturally occurring compounds that are excreted to the skin, where they can actually affect people around you. Some of their common uses include creating arousal, increasing communication or trust (through the use of oxytocin), and creating emotional bonding effects bween the wearer and targets.
While it may sound crazy (and I don't blame you), there are actual studies confirming that pheromones do in fact work. In particular, androstenone is a pheromone that has been widely studied and known for creating an increased level of cortisol -- which incidentally is known to correlate with a higher level of arousal. Anyway, that's enough of the nerdisms though... the interesting part is that while I was looking into pheromones, I found that they have really advanced formulas which are designed to invoke specific responses. Some products are for attraction, others are so you can have better social interactions, and others are for geting others to see you as having higher social value than you already have.
One of the most interesting products was called "Bad Wolf", by Liquid Alchemy Labs ( http://houseofpheromones.com/liquid-alchemy-labs ), which was designed to create a "larger than life" persona, and give the wearer an air of unstoppable confidence, next level attraction, and awesome social skills.
Being a naturally social person, this got me curious... how would it help me?
I found out soon enough after the long awaited arrival of my products. When it arrived, I ripped open the package to find the bottle enclosed in a beautiful wrapping bag and some instructions that tells me to have no fear and to walk as a man with great value. Luckily, that night I was performing a gig with my band and decided to give it a shot.
On the drive there, I felt an incredible sense of "inner drive" and confidence that I didn't have when I first got in my car. Perhaps it was the small environment where the pheromones could circulate over and over again... but anyway, I was stunned... because these things were actually doing something. I was also a bit annoyed, because now that I know they work I would be spending a large chunk of money on them. Because curiosity is my biggest vice. Which got me into a lot of trouble when I was younger, but hey that's what happens!
Anyway, when I got there... I played the best damned show I ever played. My guitar strings were begging for mercy, but the pheromones allowed me to get another glimpse into a side of my personality I don't normally release (because I don't know how). What I mean is that sometimes I have surges of confidence and charisma, but a lot of the time I'm introverted and don't really speak to many people unless it's a beautiful woman or if I have to.
The attraction aspect is what I'll be testing out next, which will be in my next blog post.
