Sleeping in a regular bed is just about sleeping. Sleeping in kids loft beds can be an adventure. When furnishing a room for your child, consider a loft bed either to save space or to add fun to night time.
Your basic loft bed can be as simple or as stylish as you like. Many stain options for the wood variety allow children to co-ordinate their bed with other furniture. Metal loft beds are another option. Choose the right height of bed for your child. Some are built quite low, yet with space remaining for storage underneath. While there can be color options, you and your child will create real flair when purchasing bedding.
Different models target boys and girls. A basic metal or wood frame might still be colorful. Try pink and white for girls or a brand which offers changeable drawer fronts to suit the mood of your child. This may even save you purchasing a new bed when your little child becomes a bigger kid and no longer wants the pink room where she was once the princess holding court.
Little children will want to go to bed even during the day with extra special loft beds. Dress a as a princess and retire to your castle. Hold fort against the enemy in your fort bed. Pretend to sleep outside in a tree house. Climb the ladder to watch for incoming weather, armies or butterflies then slide down your slide, sending the teddy bear first to check for booby traps.
Some kids get to share their bedroom with one or more siblings. Their room might be crowded with two or three beds all lining the walls, but loft beds come in varying styles to make the most of a small amount of space. Put one child at the top, then one or two at the bottom. The lower bed can face the same way as the top bunk or stick out to form an L. This arrangement works well for sleepover parties too.
Since bunks allow extra space for storage, many models build features right into the frame. Little ones can store their toys and books in added shelving. Older children may appreciate a built in desk for quiet homework time, writing or art projects.
Using the space a loft bed can provide becomes harder if two beds use the same frame. For this reason, some beds come with side storage. Shelves or drawers may be built into the sides, still making use of the existing structure to save floor space.
For the style conscious child or parent there are optional extras. Consider a chair to match your desk if this is built in. Where the desk does not come built into the frame, think carefully when choosing both items so that they go together nicely. Some kids need more space for their teddy bears, so color coordinated toy boxes offer yet another stylish feature.
