When you are refering to someone has being emo, you are usually are stating that they are sensitive, or have a emotional personality. emo truely is a type of music that started in the eightys and is rapidly moving back in its popularity. It’s a sub genre of punk music which has grown to be more popular then punk it’s self. Each and every day more and more emo bands are coming out. However, emo most commonly is refered to as a type of fashion…Today…. emo is commonly tied to both music and fashion as well as an inspiration toward the emo subculture, and the term “emo” is sometimes stereotyped with tight jeans on males and females alike, long fringe (bangs) brushed to one side of the face or over one or both eyes, dyed black, straight hair, tight t-shirts (usually short-sleeved) which often bear the names of emo bands (or other designer shirts), studded belts, belt buckles, canvas sneakers or skate-shoes or other black shoes and thick, black horn-rimmed glasses.
The Term Punk
Punk fashion is the styles of clothing, hairstyles, cosmetics, jewelry, and body modifications of the punk subculture. Punk fashion varies widely from Vivienne westhood styles to styles modeled on bands like The Exploited. The distinct social dress of other subcultures and art movements, including glam rock, skinheads, rud boys, greasers, and mods have influenced punk fashion.
