So. This is my first post; please excuse the awful writing.
I went to Warped Tour starting in '08, and again this year in mid-July. And I saw this really kick-ass band the first time on the Ernie Ball stage. And now the title of the post comes into play. Their name is Settings. Their sound is 30 Seconds to Mars meets Nine Inch Nails meets Imogen Heap on a rock steroid. It's pretty fucktastic.
If you haven't heard them, they're on PV, but their latest release, Platinum EP, is on their MySpace. The new EP has their best music yet. They worked in LA for a couple weeks with a well-known producer. And get this: they're not even signed. That's right ladies and gents, they are not signed to a record label. So they've got one of the most unique, original sounds you'll find out there.
Before I finish, I figure I'll give you a quick run of the group. Donny Evans is on vocals. He has one of the most fluid male voices I've heard. It's incomparable. Chris Flury, Sean Kalaras, and Alex Niceforo shred on guitars and electronics. Their stage presence is unfuckingbelievable. And newly recruited Kyle Adams runs the drum kit like a Fortune 100 company; hard and strong (that's what she said; sorry).
So take a listen. You might be surprised. And if you get a chance to see them live, take it; the second time I saw them (Oceanport Warped) I had multiple eargasms. And they are the nicest people ever; meeting them and talking them is so easy, and they're so grateful. I could rave longer, but I have SAT prep.
Have a great day (or evening, whenever) and listen to Settings!
