Sadie has been one of those bands that I constantly look forward to as I am a huge fan of Dir en Grey and this is by far the best band to learn from them without making thier songs less appealing. Though they have a few songs that mimic Dir en grey (not just sound, I mean riff patterns and such. Mao openly admits he is a big fan of Kyo too), they still present a fresh sound worth a listen. So let's see how thier latest single has stacked up.
Dress - The chorus in the beginning of the song was 'eh' to me. But it fit in great when it came within the song. Love the instrumental on this. Pre chorus didn't hit it for me after the verses though. I feel like it was just a thrown in screaming section for Mao. It doesn't sit well with me. Also, it sounds similar to Diru's newest single 'Hageshi....something something' just the overall feel and flow of it. Still a really good song. 4/5
stormy heaven - Not going to lie, did not enjoy the instrumental too much for this song. Also, I thought the chorus was 'eh'. I liked the group vocals and where he says something like 'stupid...something stupid'. Other than that, the song wasn't too impressive for me and was kind of dull. 3/5
forbidden - Beautiful solo and there isn't a sterotpyical heavy rock out section. No thrown in screaming sections just to scream! YAY! Mao sings beautifully. Instrumental is absolute sexy. I love this song. Hands down one of my all time Sadie favorite songs. 5/5.
Overall: 4/5. By far the best Sadie single released ever and it was just two songs! lol. Stormy Heaven didn't do anything special for me, but it didn't ruin the single for me either. I'm glad they made a fully recovery from Kagerou's single.
Pros:
+ Solid, catchy songs
+ Excellent vocals and instrumentals
Cons:
- Dress sounds an awful like Diru's newest song in parts of it.
- While the songs are solid, they won't stick with you after a few listens.

Hey, my name is Jeff, but a lot of people call me Frae. That's my artist name. Look for me on the artist list soon (I'm working on music and will have something done soon hopefully). As of right now, I make review Japanese rock albums every week. So PLEASE take a look at them if you're into Japanese music and tell me what you think. Are they helpful, how can they be improved, etc. Much appreciated! :)
