All Time Low + Change

Okay for beginners sake, I'm not hating on All Time Low. They are one of my favorite bands, I'm hating on haters. Therefor making me a hater hater. Got Me? :) anyways.
First off, All Time Low's new CD is really good. I listened to it and it is well rounded. It is a great summer album. A lot of the old fans are not digging the stuff because, one, they are probably upset about them going mainstream and two, there was a change in their sound since So Wrong, It's Right. Now, I'm not one to just defend an artist just because they are my favorite. If it's a shitty album I will 100% think it's a shitty album, favorite band or not. It's just that Nothing Personal is not a shitty album.
All this change talk. I don't know, it's kind of bull crap to me. If All Time Low had changed to screamo/ hardcore I doubt people would have a problem with it. That's still change, and completely different from what they've been playing. It's just because the genre of Pop Punk has always been a little controversial. All Time Low is still playing Pop Punk music, it might be a little poppier than their old stuff but hey, they're still playing in their genre. So change? Not so much. I'm not saying Nothing Personal is their greatest album yet but they don't deserve to get all the shit they're getting for it.
If All Time Low came with the same sound every time they made a new album I'm guarenteeing people would get bored. I would definitely get bored. They're trying out something new and I don't see a problem with that. Then there's another topic people have been complaining about for the album. They sound like everyone else. Whose everyone else? I hate that phrase. You can't compare other bands to other bands, it's ridiculous. All Time Low sounds like the rest of the bands in their genre. That's why they fit in the genre. They always said "pop punk, nothing more, nothing less" thats the kind of music they like to play. And they definitely do not sound like the Jonas Brothers.
So will this really change people's minds about anything? No probably not. Do I care? No. I just think it's a fair arguement. I've needed to get it down for a while now. All Time Low is being All Time Low. They're on the more poppier side of Pop Punk with Nothing Personal, but it's a summer album. You need the upbeat stuff. They were never like a hard rock band so they haven't changed that much for people to be hating on it so much. I know it's not their greatest album but it's not shitty either.
